Well that won't involve the NCAA. Relieved
You never know. The discrepancies could be caused by anything. It could be totally innocent like poor bookkeeping/expense reimbursement practices, or he could be taking money for himself, or he could be funneling it to players or recruits.
Just speculation but until we have more details we can't form much of an opinion.
UT has been under a microscope for some time now. It's hard to believe anyone close to CBJ would be stupid enough to funnel money to players or recruits with the legal and media scrutiny the football program has been under. That level of stupidity would be mind-boggling.
I have never met the guy, I don't have any information,. and everything I'm about to say is pure conjecture.
That out of the way, I've seen situations like this before and it turned out to be a gambling problem. That's just my thoughts. I'm moving on until I hear more.
People don't usually get put on administrative leave until poor bookkeeping and expense reimbursement practices have been eliminated as a possibility at this level.
It's probably fair to say that if they thought it was something innocent he wouldn't be put on leave. I would assume hey're still investigating though so I don't know what all has been eliminated until the investigation is complete.
Not true man. Very often in government positions if irregularities are found the person is removed from all transactions and put on leave until the process has ended. This happens more than people realize in all types of government agencies. Could be big or could be small. The fact they said he could return I think is a good sign for him.
