I have never met the guy, I don't have any information,. and everything I'm about to say is pure conjecture.

That out of the way, I've seen situations like this before and it turned out to be a gambling problem. That's just my thoughts. I'm moving on until I hear more.

Sad how often this happens. If true, Mr. Spognardi will need some of those boosted booster funds to retain a good criminal defense attorney.

Well that won't involve the NCAA. Relieved

You never know. The discrepancies could be caused by anything. It could be totally innocent like poor bookkeeping/expense reimbursement practices, or he could be taking money for himself, or he could be funneling it to players or recruits.

Just speculation but until we have more details we can't form much of an opinion.

People don't usually get put on administrative leave until poor bookkeeping and expense reimbursement practices have been eliminated as a possibility at this level.

UT has been under a microscope for some time now. It's hard to believe anyone close to CBJ would be stupid enough to funnel money to players or recruits with the legal and media scrutiny the football program has been under. That level of stupidity would be mind-boggling.

Zero reason to speculate that this is any way related to players or recruiting or extends beyond the isolated actions of one individual. There is no evidence of complicity. None whatsoever.

It's probably fair to say that if they thought it was something innocent he wouldn't be put on leave. I would assume hey're still investigating though so I don't know what all has been eliminated until the investigation is complete.

Not true man. Very often in government positions if irregularities are found the person is removed from all transactions and put on leave until the process has ended. This happens more than people realize in all types of government agencies. Could be big or could be small. The fact they said he could return I think is a good sign for him.

This is not a government position. It's a high profile position and typically would not place someone on admin leave pending investigation unless the issue is severe enough to result in termination of employment if confirmed.

Could also be precautionary just to ensure there are no ncaa compliance issues involved same as they would if there was an issue with a player
