Just wondering what everyone’s opinion would be if we did hire Chris Peterson. Personally I think it would be a home run hire, he did well at Boise State and Washington, and could establish a recruiting connection on the west coast.

He would be a solid hire but I don’t think he wants to move away from the Pacific Northwest area.

You don’t need to sell anyone on this coach...just ain’t happening.

2 points above.
Obviously doesn’t want to be coaching or he would be.
If he decides he wants to it will most likely be on the west coach.
So the chance of him coming here is somewhere like .00001%

Patterson is 60 years old. I highly doubt that he's looking to jump to a mismanaged SEC school to finish out what is left of his career, unless he just wants to get the 'orange parachute' into retirement.
I agree just seems like Peterson and Patterson have been near the center of our coaching search discussions in the past. Doesn't feel right to leave him out of it!

Chris Petersen is a really good football coach and Tennessee would be blessed to get someone like him. However, that is not going to happen. Reality sucks sometimes.

Jeremy is the coach at Tennessee and there’s nothing I can do about it. But back in 2018 I was told by several folks on this website what a winner he was going to be here in Knoxville. So I’m hoping that little wish of theirs comes true.

He’s set on retirement. He’ll be an honorary boardmember on multiple boosters corporations.

We tell you that good looking women are awesome and it doesn’t seem to sway you. 😏

No. Hugh freeze. No other name should be on the list. The guy grew up in Memphis and considers Tennessee his dream job. He’s won everywhere he’s been including as a head coach.
Exactly! Why is everyone making post about coaches that are about as likely as me winning the powerball.
Freeze should be 1A, 1B and 1C on the list.
When coming up with these coaching ideas ask 3 questions first;
1: Has he proven to be HC material
2: Can he win in the SEC
3: Would he be Happy to Come to UT
If it’s not a definite yes to all 3 then , next

Most likely we will go to the CFL and poach some assistant to the offensive coordinator and the powers that be will brag about how he’s a real special “up and comer”.

Have we given up on Gary Patterson?
We haven’t given up on Pruitt yet. He will finish his contract because we will do just well enough next year with new Qb’s to not make a change and avoid the large buyouts. He is our nightmare for a couple more years minimum. That is the realistic view. Now as far as my view, he should be fired today.

You misspelled "yesterday".

Don’t think GP will leave TCU. He has had a lot of interest in the past, but seems to really like Fort Worth and his coaching situation. He could make more money, but not likely find a job with equivalent pay, benefits, and community support. TCU started the season 1-3 with losses to Iowa St and KSU, but there was no clamoring here in Fort Worth for him to be on the hot seat. He has a good gig here.

Edit: I forgot to mention one of the biggest positives is the talent-rich state of Texas. The DFW area has more people than the state of TN and the football talent across the state is excellent. Occasionally, TCU even has a great recruit just fall to them like Z. Evans. If TCU signs the 3rd or 4th best recruit in the state at each position, they would have a very signing class.

It is going to be weird having two head coaches cause Fulmer is not firing Pruitt (unless we lose to Vandy Saturday).

Seriously, I don’t know why we’re complicating this. This is the only name that matters right now, the fit is literally perfect. The man gave Saban nightmares.

Recruiting, the life blood of any program, is much different in the South that other regions. At this point, Tennessee needs to hire someone who knows how that game is played down here (which Pruitt does) with a basic knowledge of how a game is managed (which Pruitt has no clue) along with motivating players (which Pruitt is, evidently, absolutely horrible at)
