Someone give a good argument against it being Peterson.
The fact that Currie flew to the West Coast to talk with Peterson this week and then IMMEDIATELY flew to the Bahamas and spent two days there is telling when you think about it. Thats not the actions of a man on a time-sensitive coach search.
Also telling are that reports have proven false about Mullen being interviewed after the Peterson unofficial interview. Seems like Mullen has/had interest and Currie could use that to cover tracks and throw people off the trail. When that was proven to be false by multiple sources (that Mullen was interviewed), the signs point back to Peterson.
The fact that no one has been named yet also shows that Curries selection is currently coaching somewhere. Reports are now saying UT is preparing to announce a new coach this weekend. This tells me that the coach will not be playing in a conference championship game either. Again, this points to Peterson (and also eliminates Frost and Norvell).
UW plays in the Apple Cup tomorrow, a big game for the State of Washington. They will have a bowl game but not a conference championship game. Peterson took UW to the playoffs last year, a modern pinnacle for that program. Peterson would have no problem stepping down after their final game tomorrow and not coach the final bowl game since its not a playoff bowl and he recently took them there last year. Its the perfect time to exit.
A lot of things are lining up but in a good way. Because of these things and the other reasons previously mentioned by others, I fully see Chris Peterson being named the next Head Coach either Sunday or Monday.
