Chris Low: Update on coaching search

So.....you think that guys in the media report everything that they hear?

Have I nailed the pertinent facts of your argument, Tonto?

Oh, yeah, they report everything they hear. Really, they do.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh ...... I think I just heard hoofs on the rooftop.

Oh, look! A basket filled with painted eggs and chocolate goodies!

I figure that if you believe that members of the media report everything that they hear, we might as well test your limits with other imaginary creatures, too.

Look, by all means, work yourself into a lather thinking that it's Kelly or Kiffin. It's a done deal. The presser should be on Monday or Tuesday. Let's talk about who their potential coordinators might be, too!

However, I won't be able to hear much of what other baseless speculation you rant about - what with Captain Common Sense and General Good Judgment screaming in my ears. They just keep talking, "this guy is a moron", "this guy is a moron", so on and so forth.

I supported Mike Leach, the slaughter in Norman has done nothing to dissuade me from continuing that support.

Uh-oh, here the guys go again! They're telling me to run away from here before you start talking about legalizing pot, and how the Vatican controls the weather.

What a stupid post. Everyone knows that the Illuminati control the weather.

That OU beatdown of Leach must have really done him in for good.
Leach was outcoached and out prepared in that game. If he is back at TT next season Mack Brown and Gundy will drill him to. His pass happy offense isnt that effective when the defense throws everything but the kitchen sink at an overrated o-line.

I'm one that is hoping for a Kiffin hire. Sort wondering who he would bring in for Offense and Defense? I wonder if recurits would be scared away because of the ugly mess in Oakland?

Ignore Chris Low and trust an anonymous poster who spent most of his time here on VN as a shill for Leach. We know nothing else about you. Why would we trust you? Surely it would not based on your capacity to reason.

You can trust him. Oh, and don't call him surely. :)

The accepted standard for an argument is that for it to be accepted, it must have some basis in fact. Not that your's doesn't; I just can't find it.

What concerns me about your argument(s) is that (a) When you lace your posts with thinly veiled insults towards those you disagree with, you lose your credibility. It becomes a personal thing, and thus is usually discarded as a personal rant..and (b) you say that you still support Mike Leach, despite (your words) "the Slaughter in Norman". So...are we to assume that you're okay with a slaughter in Gainesville, or Athens, or Tuscaloosa?

Your argument lost it's momentum the very instant you started insulting the poster you replied to. That should be beneath any adult with control of both his emotions, and his tongue.

And if you're okay with "slaughters in Norman", then maybe Norman is a good place for you. No insult intended, but Leach showed the nation, and the SEC, and VN, and UT, that Knoxville is not where he belongs. Nor, apparently, is Norman.

Go Vols.

Thanks, Dad. Kiss Mom goodnight for me. :)

lol...thanks for the props, but it's about the VN faithful.

If you have an argument, make it. Do so with class. Don't attack the poster; attack his (or her) logic.

I'm not blameless here, but I am trying to get better.

My I-List is too big already.

Go Vols.

I'll dive into a healthy debate as quickly as the next guy. But I tend to ignore total losers with no real argument or facts to back up said imaginary argument.:eek:k:

that is by far the dumbest post i have ever read on this site, you recieve no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

i really hope this is a reliable source

They are going by the same rumors that have been floating around here since yesterday.

The only reliable source I have heard recently (Chris Low) has said no decision has been made yet and it's going to come down to either Kiffin or Kelly.

I'm one that is hoping for a Kiffin hire. Sort wondering who he would bring in for Offense and Defense? I wonder if recurits would be scared away because of the ugly mess in Oakland?

Kiffin came out of that mess lookin like a classy guy with Al Davis lookin like scum. that mess in no way tarnished Kiffin's rep, it actually made him look better

not sure if this has already been posted, but from Low's blog:

Chris Low: I've thought since Tennessee fired Phillip Fulmer that Lane Kiffin was at or near the top of Tennessee's list. I still believe that, although it would be premature to call it a done deal. Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton and his search party are still out talking to people. In fact, they're on the road today. What I know to be fact is that Kiffin has already started talking to people about coming with him to Tennessee. One of those people is former Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron, now an assistant with the New Orleans Saints. Orgeron was a recruiting whiz at Ole Miss, and he worked with Kiffin on the Southern California staff earlier this decade. I could see Orgeron coming as either a defensive coordinator, associate head coach and/or recruiting coordinator. I think the Vols will have their coach named by the middle of December. The other names to keep an eye on are Cincinnati's Brian Kelly, Texas Tech's Mike Leach and Air Force's Troy Calhoun. I think the Vols have also talked with Minnesota's Tim Brewster. But I've thought from the beginning that the final decision would come down to Kelly or Kiffin.

I'd still prefer Peterson or Leach.

It's funny how one loss, although a BAD one, has made Leach a less attractive hire all of the sudden. He is still beating more-talented teams with players rejected by UT-A and OU.

The major upside to Kiffin is a Tennessee Volunteer Football coach has to be extremely skilled at and driven about recruiting. More than anything, that is Kiffen's strong suit.
