Chris Low: Update on coaching search

For some reason I only read option 3. That was what I was in complete agreement with.

And MH wouldn't wait. If Kiffin is the guy, then it will be announced on the 1st like you said.

I have to say at this point I like both equally. What brings Kiffin up to Kelly in my eyes is that Kiffin is a proven recruiter and will bring in an awesome staff.

I don't buy the proven recruiter yet. Recruiting at UT will be much more competetive than USC. I'm not saying he won't be able to do it at UT, but I do say he's not proven yet. If he brings Ogeron, it's definately a step in the right direction with recruiting though.

You can't just look at Kiffin...
That's certainly true.

1. The closer you are to Hamilton, the more you likely know.

2. The closer you are to Hamilton, the more trusted you have to be.

3. The more trusted you are, the less likely that you'd be to do anything to violate that trust.

4. Lowe is close to Hamilton, without a doubt (that's how he broke CPF before anyone), and trusted.

5. Long after this story goes away and the head coach has been named, Lowe's trustworthiness will remain his life-blood.

6. He wouldn't break this one, even if he did know it. Unless Hamilton approved it, and what could be gained by that at this point?

7. Most likely, Lowe's increasing his trustworthiness by spreading disinformation at Hamilton's behest, or at least with his implicit approval.

8. You can mark both Kelly and Kiffin off of your list.

9. It will be someone else. Who? Who knows. Not these two.

10. Trust me.

Why would anyone just trust you after a post like that? It's L-O-W BTW, and he is a reporter, and there would be no reason to tell him if it wasn't going to be reported. He and Hammy aren't going out on the town and sipping cocktails. And he doesn't know anything more than he is saying. Trust ME.

I guess you are still holding out hope that somehow, Vince Gill's crazy, bloated kid brother will get the job.

I know Low (correct spelling) personally and trust me...

He has something that is called journalistic integrity. That means he has an obligation as a journalist to report the news truthfully, accurately and in a timely fashion.

If Low had the story he would run it even if Hamilton himself asked him to hold it.

And there is no way he would ever spread false information - EVER.

You obviously do not know how the media work. Low does not need Hamilton's approval to write anything and he never will.

They share a mutual respect for each other and understand that each has his job to do, but that is where they draw the line.

So.....you think that guys in the media report everything that they hear?

Have I nailed the pertinent facts of your argument, Tonto?

Oh, yeah, they report everything they hear. Really, they do.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh ...... I think I just heard hoofs on the rooftop.

Oh, look! A basket filled with painted eggs and chocolate goodies!

I figure that if you believe that members of the media report everything that they hear, we might as well test your limits with other imaginary creatures, too.

Look, by all means, work yourself into a lather thinking that it's Kelly or Kiffin. It's a done deal. The presser should be on Monday or Tuesday. Let's talk about who their potential coordinators might be, too!

However, I won't be able to hear much of what other baseless speculation you rant about - what with Captain Common Sense and General Good Judgment screaming in my ears. They just keep talking, "this guy is a moron", "this guy is a moron", so on and so forth.

I supported Mike Leach, the slaughter in Norman has done nothing to dissuade me from continuing that support.

Uh-oh, here the guys go again! They're telling me to run away from here before you start talking about legalizing pot, and how the Vatican controls the weather.

I'm pretty sure that the guy who wrote a Russian novel-length fantasy about Cowher, Kiffin, and Steele has no room to talk about other guys' baseless speculation.

Ignore Chris Low and trust an anonymous poster who spent most of his time here on VN as a shill for Leach. We know nothing else about you. Why would we trust you? Surely it would not based on your capacity to reason.

You may be as wierd as the guy that you are promoting.

Is what style of offense the potential coach runs considered in the hiring process? If so, wouldn't that take kelly out of the picture? I have no clue how this whole process is run, but I don't think hamilton would consider a coach who runs an offense that would take a while to install here. He can see first hand what happens (clawson) when installing a new scheme when you don't have the athletes to run it properly. I'd say kiffin is the safe bet in that regard because his offense is a closer match to what these players are used to running. I may be way off with this post, but this is something I've pondered the past couple of days.
