I have been following Tennessee since probably before you were even a thought in someone's mind. I don't know all the assistant coaches in college football, and reasonably sure you don't know them all either. I don't understand why you need to make the comment you made. Yes, you are probably right about one thing; I don't know the intricacies of college football, so don't be a jerk, okay? I dare say there are probably many on here in my same position. The fact you didn’t know who Pruitt was before he got here pretty much shows what you know about CFB...so why should anyone listen your opinion?
Will you change your tune if I post a picture of my degree? I do get to play at fancy golf courses and I am not a troll.
Right next to my orange golf pullover....Here is my “MIT degree”...see how easy that was @MIT_Beaver
Edit: I’m don’t have a degree from MIT btw
I feel like you do. My top 3 are Herman, Feeeze, or Mahlzan. We need a stabilizing force within the program right now. Someone who can at the least make us competitive.
I don't think it would matter. It would take him at least a couple of years to get his footing here and by then it would be time to fire him, based on Tennessee standards. Young, up and coming coaches are realizing this. Why do people think we couldn't give the job away 3 years ago? Auburn has the same deep pockets booster problem. They went to their 7th choice, if my math was correct. No great coach wants to go somewhere that he's not the top dog. They don't want to kowtow to a billionaire's whims.
We just had a local superintendent fired because he had a fake degree. So no, sir, a picture of your “degree” won’t change my tune. Will you change your tune if I post a picture of my degree? I do get to play at fancy golf courses and I am not a troll.
What do you project his record against those three over the first three years?
Find this one on Google.Nice pullover, here’s my Tesla.

Imo with our roster he wouldn't beat them in his first year. 2nd year he might beat florida maybe Georgia and 3rd year he would be able to taken on ga and Florida. Alabama is just so far ahead I can't envision us beating them in the near future unless Saban retires. Its a sad truth but watching them I see very few mistakes. They're very well coached. Imo it would take atleast 5 years to be where they are. That's with any coach. But tbh thats just my opinion. I just don't see enough talent on our roster at this point to compete with the big 3. But herman would be a big improvement but that also depends on his staff. What do you project his record against those three over the first three years?
Losing to arkansas was the straw that broke the camels back imo. To lose to a team that has very very little success in recent years with a 1st year head coach was very troubling. Losing to Kentucky the way we did was also a very bad sign. No, if a coach is continually getting their doors blown off while simultaneously making awful administrative and personnel decisions while showing zero progress on any level they will be shown the door.
I absolutely agree with you that a coach needs time to build his program and that will require some patience. I dont think anyone is demanding titles within 3yrs. I also don't think it is unreasonable to expect signs of progress. Maybe Bama blows your doors off year 1 by 35 but year 3 you can at least have a legitimately competitive game going into the 2nd while you beat team like UK and Arkansas?

So first 3 years I could see 2-7 or 4-5 against them. But I could see him beating the lower tier SEC teams. The big three are in another league atm.

Peyton can do about anything he wants. Money isn’t an issue for him. He can do so many things with similar or greater money and less stress than coaching. I honestly would see him doing something like GM of a team or something.Phil needs pull a shocker and interview PM for the coming Tennessee head football coach vacancy.

Getting top 5 classes recruiting against the SEC isn't as easy as recruiting in Texas.Do you think if Herman came to TN as head coach, he could hire some assistants who have ties to recruiting in the SEC?
I’ve posted that for for a couple of years. I could see him in a situation like Elway or go into an ownership path like Michael Jordan.Peyton can do about anything he wants.
