I've done enough looking into him. And I've seen push his job into fame by being on countless talk shows, interviews and writing a book about himself. I've also seen how many of his stories are pure fabrication, much like Eastwood's account of his tours of duty.
Saying Wayne's movies were propaganda films....
propaganda
noun
1. information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc.
Yea like actual quotes directly from him. The stuff that's been used in this debate
"a person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities."
If his intent was to rally boys to join the military, then by definition it's propaganda. It's not a stretch at all. It is what it is.
I know what propaganda is bro..... With that said.... I don't think I've ever seen a John Wayne war movie. I googled this topic and there's plenty of articles on Wayne's war movies and propaganda..... I checked out a couple, but they appear to be so slanted and written by liberal poons that I quickly lost interest.
