Chris Kyle: American hero or

Good to see that fat POS Michael Moore weighed in on the movie on twitter:

"My uncle killed by sniper in WW2. We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot u in the back. Snipers aren't heroes. And invaders r worse"

What a fat tub of goo.....

I've done enough looking into him. And I've seen push his job into fame by being on countless talk shows, interviews and writing a book about himself. I've also seen how many of his stories are pure fabrication, much like Eastwood's account of his tours of duty.

So you've formed an opinion based on others accounts of what he did and didn't do, but are not willing to read his own account? Makes perfect sense.

Saying Wayne's movies were propaganda films....

If his intent was to rally boys to join the military, then by definition it's propaganda. It's not a stretch at all. It is what it is.

propaganda
noun
1. information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc.

Not agreeing or disagreeing, but what is a hero and could you give an example or two?

"a person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities."

Yea like actual quotes directly from him. The stuff that's been used in this debate

What actual quotes? The thing with Ventura? He was in San Diego at the time of the alleged incident. Unfortunately, Kyle wasn't able to testify because he was dead. The Superdome? Show me the direct quote? The thing with shooting the two would be robbers? Not been proven it didn't happen.

Not sure if he's actually trying to be political, or just saw an opportunity for a great joke. Excellent reference, IMO:

"American Sniper kind of reminds me of the movie that's showing in the third act of Inglorious Basterds."

He's a Canadian-nuff said.

By that definition.....I would say he had tremendous courage, he definitely had achievements (he won 2 silver medals), and I would assume the SEALs saw noble qualities.

Did he have things to take away from some of those requirements? Possibly, but I see no mention of that in the definition.

I know what propaganda is bro..... With that said.... I don't think I've ever seen a John Wayne war movie. I googled this topic and there's plenty of articles on Wayne's war movies and propaganda..... I checked out a couple, but they appear to be so slanted and written by liberal poons that I quickly lost interest.

You've never seen a John Wayne war movie? Missing out my man.

I kinda hate war movies, but I'll watch the Longest Day again and again. Green Berets is awesome, too. John Wayne was awesome.

Watched American Sniper this weekened and thought it was a really good film. It is my second favorite Clint Eastwood directed movie. Gran Torino is still my favorite.
