Won't pull a heavens gate, but would be surprised considering Tyndall couldn't manage even a single four star recruit in his entire career so far.
If I'm a prospect I'm looking at TBA with my jaw wide open. Tennessee fans don't really understand how big TBA is compared to 99 percent of places - even basketball schools. And when I get a look at the facilities that wide open jaw hits the floor. At that point, I know right away that this school has everything I need to make it to the pros (and let's be honest many athletes, especially in basketball, don't think - I need someone who can develop me, although Tyndall has proven he can develop a great player). Then I realize, I can test my skills against the most heralded class ever in the form of UK's current class/team and I'm chomping at the bit. I don't care about conference history or even school history as an athlete I've got confidence in myself and know this is a school that has everything I want and more. The coach just has to convince me that he can be trusted and wants to and can help me reach my goals.
As Jones pointed, Tennessee sells itself, and that goes beyond just our football program. If you're an athlete in FB or Basketball (women's or men's) everything you want in terms of fans, facilities, support, and so on is already in place. Just a matter of whether the coach can establish trust with you and your family and sell the place.
IOW, we have a lot more going for us than people realize but yeah, it takes the right coach to capitalize on it.
