Chris Donald apparently just needed a new position.

No, Lane Kiffin was the quitter and the liar. Coleman would have been relegated to garbage duty while Kiffin was there. Passed over for whoever he was recruiting. Poole pretty much made Coleman's case. BJ had the stones, unlike the rest of the world, to tell Kiffin to go suck it. I'm not gonna ride the bench because you have an agenda.

Right; Kiffin had an agenda. It is just a coincidence that the guys who beat out Coleman and Poole have NFL contracts.

Do you think Coleman will have an NFL contract after UTC?

Doubt it. But Poole wasn't asking to be the starter, he just wanted the opportunity, obviously Hardesty was healthy and ready to do his gig. Coleman wasn't asking to be the starter, he wanted his shot with the ones. And please don't think Kiffin gets all the credit for Crompton's success.

I work at UTC and was talking to the LB coach at UTC and he said Chris was an absolute animal, they put him at DE and he will get after the QB, he just needs to adjust to reading the run play.....I met him on campus and this kid was nothing but all manners to me as well as BJ is too .....Proud to say I pull for him and you people who are going to say negative stuff about him, get a life!!!

I try and go to a few Mocs home games a year when UT is away from Knoxville. Coleman has impressed me. He's a smart tough QB that in my opinion could have gone 7-6 too at UT last year. Hell he may have won the UCLA game for us. But that's history. Simms is the man now.

I know, but we will never know. Doesn't matter who is QB to me either just hope it goes well...Just trying to prepare myself for some tough games this year, but who knows maybe I'm all wrong!

I would happily explain my avatar to someone who's not reaching WAY out to be critical.

I flame alot if people on here. The difference between you and me is, my criticisms are substatiantiated. My brief encounter with you has shown the opposite for you.

My avatar isn't my mantra. Neither are 99% of avatars on here.

My usual bushy tailed rodent avatar is just annoying... :p And more power to all those that have moved on to other schools.

Some people want to work for a position, some people would just as soon have it given to them. Hummm wonder which Jonesy is?

He looked great against Vandy. Coleman was nothing but our third best QB even when Crompton and Nick The Red were stinking up Neyland. He is where he belongs.

"Poole pretty much made Coleman's case. "

Poole pretty much makes my point, he had the Stones to stay. Sorry but I grew up in the Noog also and would have loved to see him MAKE it but in the end he was just not good enough for the SEC.

Why can't we just be glad for him that he's has found a place where he can contribute? As far as I know, he's a good kid. He never got into trouble while he was at UT. I wish him well.

Was he over-hyped? Definitely. Was it his fault? Definitely not.

Amen. I hope he can be happy.

Poole had the stones to stay and almost effed up his chance to play college ball. Dhead was not going to have him on the field while he promised freshman playing time. He is quoted as saying, if Kiffin was still here I was freaking gone! Kiffin wanted his recruits. Period. Not good enough for the SEC? He would be our starting QB in two weeks had he stayed. You seriously think Simms is an SEC QB? Uggh? yeaaaah. He's all loaded up with talent.

You can't blame Coleman for leaving really, I mean how was he supposed to know Kiffin would leave after a year... He decided he wasn't going to sit and take Kiffin's crap.... I thought all along Coleman was our best QB on the roster. He was a Cutcliff guy that has to say something...

Agreed. For whatever reason, it didn't work in Knoxville, His confidence is up, he's playing well and he's having fun again. Delighted for the kid.

When I saw the thread topic, I knew some would start throwing BJ Coleman under the bus again. Grow up guys--he and Donald have moived on. They are doing well, enjoying college footballl and having the time of their lives. Good for them.

Do tell. What was the agenda?

Let's see. Kiffin-Program sucks, got to bring in talent, tell kids about avenue to Pros and how they will get immediate playing time, just buy in. 2. Recruited Crompton at USC, loved his skills and was going to live or die with results of his play for 09. If Crompton sucked, he had an out. If Crompton performed, he was genius for getting him up to SEC speed. Poole was not going to have any significant playing time, he's pretty much quoted on that, Brown would get reps because Brown was the number one recruit in the country and Kiffin wanted more of em. BJ obviously was ahead of crompton during spring game and was thrown under the bus for Kiffins plan for the future. Kiff wanted the next USC style West Coast QB to recruit and BJ was not going to screw that up having three more years of eligibility left. Scrambling style, running qb's need not apply. Heath Schuler would have been tossed aside.

What does all this mean. Nothing. I hope Simms does well. And I hope Kiffin falls flat on his azz.

You're getting the same etiquette and respect you've shown me. You get my point. Say something new or move along.

And yet you won't find Scriptural support for your etiquette. So does that thrown out the window because that doesn't suit you either?

You've made no point since you moved on from Donald. You're like a five year old calling people names, and you elude every point made that contradicts your ridiculous stance. How about you actually comment on the various flaws I mentioned in your stance towards Coleman?

I actually enjoyed arguing with you yesterday. Since then, I've lost my enthusiasm.

Don’t blame him for leaving. I blame him for whining to the hometown media like a spoiled brat and all of the Noogans on here who coddle him, “That’s OK BJ. You are the greatest thing that ever happened to UT even if they don’t know it yet. You were treated wrong by that Bad Bad man”.

PS: What does it say that Cutcliffe did not want him at Duke?
