China threatened the US today over Taiwan. They are also threatening to withhold ring magnets from the US, which are required for almost every part of manufacturing. That is why the summit was held today. The ban on sales of these begins tomorrow.

There’s much more educated people on trade than me, but like many things it should never have got to this point for our country if true. Failure goes back for years, but not for selected few who made money off it.

Also just to throw this out there to get different opinions for me to make sense of it of it all. I see zero difference in the Ukrainian situation vs. Taiwan’s.

Thats part of it to be sure. Also Lefties in conjunction with Unions raised taxes, wages and benefits so high that American companies could no longer make things here and turn a profit. NAFTA was a terrible example also. The companies who had not yet closed down mills and factories in favor of China instead moved production to Mexico for the same reasons. Even domestic car makers like Ford opened plants down South because union employees in the US were getting paid $50 an hour with medical, dental, pensions (which nobody gets anymore) just to sweep the floors. No company with that kind of overhead can compete in a car market full of vehicles made in Asia that were dirt cheap and very reliable. They still cant compete today on an even playing field except for full size trucks where they have the market cornered. I am a patriotic, America First believer. Would I go drop $30 or $40k for a Ford or Chevy sedan instead of a Honda Accord or Toyota? Hell no. They depreciate twice as fast and last half as long. Thats throwing away money. When the unions are in bed with Democrats, thats never gonna change.

Much of his merchandise sold at campaign rallies is actually produced in the US, but the same items sold by independent vendors is produced in China, and those sales are exponentially more than what is sold at his campaign rallies. He makes more from those than he does from the products produced in the US
