So ignore the cesspool that is Chicago since “gun laws clearly work in NYC”? Interesting...

Look over here not over there.

Are they "clearly working in NYC"?

NYC sees upsurge in shootings in Brooklyn and Queens, NYPD says

New York City has seen an upsurge in shootings in 2019, a trend running counter to the overall decrease in violent crimes, as officials develop strategies to deal with the gun violence that has hit innocent bystanders particularly hard in recent days.

Through June 30, the city saw shootings increase 7.1 percent to 361 from 337 in the same period in 2018, according to the latest NYPD data, many of them in Brooklyn and Queens. The number of shooting victims increased slightly, to 414 from 411, statistics showed.

Maybe they're better shots in Chicago?

Problem is, it's to easy for Billy Bob to fill his trunk with 100 guns "legally" purchased in Missouri, drive to Chicago, and make himself and the gun manufacturers a nice little profit.
It's not the laws in Chicago that are failing, it's the laws in other places.

Nope Luther it's not that any states laws are failing, it's law enforcement that is failing since they aren't catching Billy Bob breaking the law.

If you're gonna be a thug in life, first rule is go learn how to shoot to be an effective thug. Not only do you see it in movies, but, in real life where bullets just fly around carelessly. So, also stop just cowardly spraying.

Become proficient, one bullet, one kill, no more accidental innocent people being shot and killed.

Thug life.

I've stated multiple times I think things such as a national register, a per year limit on purchases, and a per lifetime limit on purchases would all lessen the problem.
Lol. Not even close.
People already break the gun laws in what they are doing. Or what you believe is happening.
Adding more gun laws will not fix that. Its naive in the extreme.

It's like believing the limiting the number of cars a person buys determines how many people will speed. I mean cars are registered. Surely limitting the number a person can own will make them safer drivers right?

As others have pointed out, if it was the people collecting guns that were the issue, the issue would be a LOT worse.

If Billy Bob is intent on breaking the law by buying as many guns as he can "legally" and then reselling them illegally on the black market, then by reducing the number of guns Billy Bob can legally buy will impact Billy Bob's efforts to sell guns illegally on the black market.

Oh, and by the way, Wednesday follows Tuesday.

As a state Illinois has less gun deaths per 100k than Tn
2016 data here, but you get the idea.
Alaska leads the nation in that category. Very misleading stat. California was ninth best in death rate per 100k people at a measly 7.9, but had the second most deaths with 3184.
Illinois had a rate of 11.7 and 1490 total deaths.

In 2016, the overall rate of death by firearms in the United States was 11.8 per 100,000 people — the same as for death by motor vehicles — with suicides accounting for roughly two out of every three gun deaths.

Illinois has stricter laws than tn and statewide INCLUDING CHICAGO has a lower gun death rate than Tn. That is kind of embarrassing. You're right it is fun.

The entire country has a higher gun death rate now with current restrictions and laws than it did before we had any restrictions or laws.

You're right this is fun.

Now let’s finally do just the place with the strictest laws of the three. Chicago

I’m having more fun.

First of all, your use of the term "Billy Bob" is bigoted. Second, it ain't gonna be southern rednecks that will be selling guns to the gangs in Chicago.

You are an idiot.

There were 41 states with a worse rate of gun deaths than that commie liberal gun hating cesspool California?

Depends upon what point in time you want to compare to today.

It isn't misleading. Are you really saying that you should compare straight up Tennessee gun deaths vs. California? That would be misleading.

sure let's cherry pick our fun Memphis v. Chicago... Next.
