When talking to sources about Coleman's situation, they tend to point to three things: He's homesick and feeling the pressure as a newfound millionaire; he suffered a head injury at an unknown point during his time at Penn State that seems to have caused lingering vertigo symptoms; and then there are concerns about his tardiness and engagement level early in his Vols tenure.

Sources indicate that Tennessee paid Coleman in the ballpark of $2 million out of the portal, perhaps the Vols' biggest investment of the offseason. The pressure that has come with Coleman's new millionaire status – not to mention others around him becoming aware of his newfound wealth -- and being away from home is straining the 19-year-old sophomore.

yep. Never heard of homesickness preventing someone from showing up to do their job, especially if they are making as much as he is. Wish him the best, but its pretty clear how this is gonna go.

Just gotta give it time. Knoxville is a great city and there are great people to help him adjust and find a support system. He can always transfer out after one year if it doesn't work out. Wherever he is at there is going to be money and high expectations that come with it. Might as well suck it up and get the millions you are guarenteed to make. Leave and you jeopardize that.

I mean, if the guy can't stick around and do the job he was paid for (as a student athlete..lololol), the least he could do is say, 'hey guys, can't stand being away from momma, so here is the check back'. Man up dude, play or pay (back).

There's zero indication that he's intentionally saying "You can't make me play" but there's indications he's saying "I can't play but I'm trying to fix it."

What's next? A player gets an NIL, gets hurt, and can't play so we go after his NIL for "failure to provide services?"

Again, there is zero indication that Coleman has taken the money and skipped town or isn't trying to get past his issues. Zero.

It seems you guys would be willing to take back NIL from any athlete who can't play if you feel "that's not a serious enough problem" even while the coaches and staff are working to help that player overcome the problem.

And you expect to be able to recruit with this attitude toward players? Seriously?
