Chaz Coleman status?

Reality

Not Realistic
3 elite eights is just ok to me with the resources UT has. I think more highly of what the Tennesee Vols athletic department should look like. You cherry picked my post anyways. My post in quotes below...
"More NIL equals more drama and missed practice. Heupel and Barnes can't get it right. Low character or not enough talent for the investment." We paid most NIL to Nico Iamealevya, Coleman from Penn State and Nate Ament. Nico sucked. Coleman has 1 sack and can't practice. Paying 3 million or more for a player who shoots 40% and didn't bring much else to the table is a bad investment in my opinion.

Yeah clearly Chaz isn’t going to work out because VN says so. It’s hilarious to see some in here already ready to get rid of the guy.
Clearly some sports writers like to fan a fire while trying to convince everyone else that they didn’t want to see the destruction. The story is that the most expensive man on the starting roster isn’t showing up to work and he doesn’t have a valid excuse.

Tell me what is real about this story and stop the gossip.

My opinion has changed. He chose to be here. He knew he would be this far away from home. He knew he’d be making 3.5 million a year and have a bunch of expectations with that kind of money. I sure as **** wouldn’t be homesick if I got to play at Tennessee. And I live just about as far from Tennessee as he did. Quit your bellyaching and get your ass to practice rather than being a prima donna expecting everything on a silver platter. He has an honor less than 1 percent of the population can say they have and that’s the fact he’s a division 1 football player. He needs to start acting like one

I agree with everything you said.

Pay me 3 million and I will show up to work in a different country everyday if that is what the job requires. Suck it up buttercup!

Kid gets to see the world, he can go wherever he wants. He needs to be grateful and realize how rare that is. And he’s making a **** ton of money doing it. His actions right now are essentially him pissing away money. If he’s as much of a homebody as the media says he is, momma needs to go down to Knoxville and slap some some sense into him

Not even advocating here "to get rid of the guy." I do think it is common knowledge that unexcused absences from practice are like big red warning flags. They typically do get a player dismissed from the team. Coaches can be expected to seek remedies for an inorganic health condition. If a player does not respond to treatment, what other option is there? Don't you agree that a player should want to be there?
I am not going to pretend to know anything about this situation. If he has missed practices without an excuse then why hasn’t Heupel gotten rid of him? I am not gonna pass judgement on the guy because I don’t know his situation. If he truly misses his family then that’s a serious issue.

Some on here can pass judgement all they want.

I don't like him. Never liked the idea of treating him like the best prospect in the portal. Dude had 1 sack last year and he's acting like he left the NFL to get here. Cut losses and move on IMO
Yeah. He doesn’t appear to be the next LT or Randy Moss. Doubt coddling him is going to benefit the Vols.

"If he truly misses his family then that’s a serious issue."

How would truly missing his family be made a less serious issue for him by skipping practice? Does he only miss his family when he is working?
Totally agree. If he is still on campus how does not going to practice make it better. If he misses some of his family he’s got enough money to fly them in. Heck, he can get them an apartment or buy them a house in Knoxville.

Since he came out of the portal, can TN release him back to the portal and some other school pick him up or able to return to his previous team if they'll have him even though the portal has closed and no summer portal?

Homesick 6 hours away from home is wild to me! You can drive that in a night. I don't see what the issue is. Kids today are soooooo dam soft! I just don't get it. When I was 19 I was across the world fighting in a war I knew nothing about. Being homesick just wasn't an option.
Touche' and thank you for your service to our country. God bless.

3.5 million dollars will buy a lot of plane tickets home.

I'm unsure about NCAA rules since the spring portal has been dumped.

It was a mockery of "student" athletics for a player like Joey A to enroll in May and play in Sept, but the NCAA allowed it for transferring players. I wonder if they've ruled a player must be enrolled in the Spring now to play in the Fall since the spring portal is gone...... you know, kinda pretending this is still college football?
