Chaz Coleman status?

What info do you have? Do you know the guy personally?
What does knowing him personally have to do with my comment? Nothing.

Is he an adult? Yes.
Is he getting paid? Yes.
Did Brent Hubbs and multiple other media comment on the situation? Yes.

Don’t jump in my grille over facts.

Not to downplay the situation but the speed rusher cupboard isn’t totally bare.

Christian Gass is having a strong spring. I think Perlotte and Telander can help here. Not move them full time to speed rusher, from ILB, but let them come in on 3rd and long.
Is Gass injured? He isn’t dressed out for the O&W.

My sister died 5 days before 2 a days. I went to the funeral and burial. Was rough but I was at practice the morning it started. Being on the field helped but being mentally tough is something that was expected in our generation. Agree or not, it’s different now.
Agreed. Its a matter of priorities. Most people here would prioritize having the talent, ability, and opportunity to play at UT. Not everyone sees it that way. Ive been home sick plenty of times in my life. Never did it prevent me from accomplishing what i was after (plenty of other things killed it before home sickness could).

Hey Chaz- sometimes you gotta act like a man!!! I grew up in northern Jersey and drove 750 miles south to attend UT in September of 1975 and didn't know a soul there. Also, I didn't have football coaches coddling to me or amazing training facilities at my fingertips or sumptuous meals prepared for me (Sophies??) or a dorm as nice as The Ritz Carlton to live in (Hess sucked). You have landed in paradise young man so wake up and smell the roses cuz all you'd be smelling back in Ohio or PA right now is snow.

Homesick 6 hours away from home is wild to me! You can drive that in a night. I don't see what the issue is. Kids today are soooooo dam soft! I just don't get it. When I was 19 I was across the world fighting in a war I knew nothing about. Being homesick just wasn't an option.

Be careful. You might hurt the more fragile side of VN's feelings

I agree with btw, but this is the TikTok generation today.

More NIL equals more drama and missed practice. Heupel and Barnes can't get it right. Low character or not enough talent for the investment. Thrilled for Elander today and team though.

Our whole society is soft. When my son-in-law told me that in basic they could hold up a "you are stressing me" card and the DI would back off, I about choked on my coffee.

Barnes has been to three straight EEs. Has done quite well in the portal. Seems he has gotten it right

Wild guess here: Coleman will never play for the Vols. He shouldn’t play for the Vols. Something akin to HR is surely must be putting together his termination first thing Monday morning.

Otherwise, Heupel will continue to be a door mat to highly prized recruits.

This kid is mentally weak if this is the case. 3.5 million for 8 tackles and 1 sack of producttion?!
So he's obviously being paid off of potential. If you can't show up to practice then you won't reach that potential I say cut him and Sue the hell out of him and make him repay the money.

I don't buy the homesick BS you played at Penn State last year which yes it's closer but we're not talking like we're across the country here. If he is that weak minded he's not going to succeed in the SEC. Oh sorry I don't have sympathy for a kid getting paid 3.5 million and he doesn't even show up to work when most American families are struggling paycheck to paycheck and won't make that kind of money there whole life working.

Cut his sorry ass and try to recoup the money, we all know where this is going. If he stays he will be a problem in the locker room and he will then transfer to Ohio St. They have to put some guardrails on this nil stuff and structure it better. Before all the "oh he's a kid 19 yrs old boo hoo". He's being paid a lot of money and he's an adult now. If u join the army at 18 and don't show up what happens?

Yeah clearly Chaz isn’t going to work out because VN says so. It’s hilarious to see some in here already ready to get rid of the guy.
Not even advocating here "to get rid of the guy." I do think it is common knowledge that unexcused absences from practice are like big red warning flags. They typically do get a player dismissed from the team. Coaches can be expected to seek remedies for an inorganic health condition. If a player does not respond to treatment, what other option is there? Don't you agree that a player should want to be there?
