I would be very happy with Strong. He did better than great with Louisville, and his USF team is 9-1. I think he has strong character (pun intended). I believe he was thrown into a terrible situation at Texas.

Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Couldn’t win st Texas, seems to have forgotten what defense is... He sucks as a head coach in real conferences... remember his Louisville teams weren’t in the ACC... they were in the Big Least...

What kind of situation you think he would be coming into at UT? Most times replacing a fired coach and your into a bad situation, We don’t want a coach that has to go into a good situation to win!

No, Charlie Strong had a ton of resorces at Texas and couldn't win.

Its not that. I think most on VN just have come to expect the UT AD to screw things up when it comes to the football program. I mean we are hoping for guys like Gruden and Petersen, but are more likely to get mediocre guys like Campbell or Mullen. I am trying to keep the faith that Currie has a functioning brain.

I would offer Kiffin before I would even think about calling Strong. Picking USC over Tennessee is one thing, but picking Louisville over Tennessee is another.

Louisville is pure and simply a basketball school.

USF played a weak schedule this year.
Strong is in the right conference.

I don’t think he picked Louisville over us.
I think he looked at the team he had returning and decided to hold out for other future opportunities.

Ultimately, he picked Texas over us.
