If we choose Strong. I will be done with TN Football until we see who the next coach is. He is awful and he is where he belongs, a 2nd tier program. That is where he will succeed, he isn't good enough to be the head coach in the SEC

I don’t always agree with you but at least you can present a good fact based argument. I wonder if some of these posters even watch football sometimes

If there was mutual interest, I wouldn't let pride get in the way of hiring Strong, if he's the best remaining candidate. Being this is yr 1 at USF I doubt he leaves this yr. Waiting for the Gators job after MacElwain is fired after 2018.

Florida won’t hire him. Too much bad blood there regarding the two previous coaching searches

He’d be a great hire here, but he’d probably have to get rid of a lot of players because he wouldn’t put up with the crap that Butch Jones lets them get away with

He beat an Urban Meyer coached Florida team in the Sugar Bowl? Hate to break it to you but that would be incorrect.

If you would take him as a DC, there is no reason to not take him as a head coach. His biggest issue is his OC hires. Give him the cash to hire a quality offensive staff and he could do well in the SEC. I really think Ole Miss will pursue him big time.

Are we overlooking him? He won't turn us down this time. He has that Florida team rolling. Not as risky as Mullen with the salary that Mullen would demand.

we're not overlooking him. and while i don't think he'd be an awful coach here, really, if we get to him....we've done things all wrong.

He has baggage. Too much for TN. And he was fired at Texas for having 3 losing season. We don't want Butch Jones 2.0 ever.
