Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

To this same point politicians knelt at his casket, the Democrat party knelt in traditional African garments to celebrate George Floyd and people who made despicable comments were cancelled and fired from their jobs.

Some of the very things the left is decrying now.

What have we learned?

That CK should have been cancelled years ago?

Huffs a partisan hack?

That politicians and people are all hypocrites and the left cheers while the right jeers and vice versa. There is no moral high ground.

That this is all purely partisan hackery. The right hated Floyd because the left embraced him, the left hated Kirk because the right embraced him. Anything else is people being dishonest with themselves and others.

Well, he's always had the childish side. My hope in helping elect him in Round1 was that he could be effective AND presedential, but the actions from the left that were enabling his childish side never stopped. To be fair, a good bit of his schtick was self defense too. He has his moments but the cookie jar is always full of tempting treats. Never have regretted my votes. The sad state of american politics is that for 16+- years now he is/has been the best candidate available.

As for options next time with Vance and/or Rubio, I'm beginning to think Rubio could be a strong contender, and the optics I see is Vance seems to lay low when allowed so he doesn't narrow his possible field of support. Could be interesting in Trump's lame duck year how Vance platforms himself. I think Rubio already has the proper distance here he can pull support from both ends of the right and a decent cluster of the middle. He will the broader appeal to the undecided. A more mature and seasoned Vaveck would be strong. Just don't know if he will ever recover from crumbling. He did peak my attention. He seems to be taking the quiet road for now and we'll have to see where he pokes his head up again.

Vance would wipe the floor with any of the potential candidates of the democrats that seem to be the front runners.

He couldn’t make a monumental mistake like Harris and say I wouldn’t have done anything differently than Trump. He also needs to tone down some of the rhetoric.

Feel free to make it.

This is you trying to act like you want to have the discussion? Really?

I'm right here. Nobody but you have complained about having the discussion here. So, if you want to have the discussion, I'm elated. Let's just continue it here. If you can't comprehend what I'm asking, you can help me make it more comprehensible to you.

I'm perfectly happy to have the conversation but will not beg you to do so. The ball is in your court, and I'll be perfectly content either way.
I'll not have the debate in this thread.
But as a show of good faith, I'll answer 1a.
Humans are primates who evolved over time.
At least that's the most plausible current explanation.

You can provide your answer and advance the conversation in a new thread of your creation if you wish.
If not, I'm good with that also.

I mean it's possible, it maybe a comment made in the heat if the moment with venom? We all get angry but I'd have to watch that particular video. Can you link it?
From what little attention I paid to him before, that seems to fit his MO.
I'd only seen the clips posted in this thread but I found this one just now:

I think he knows that and has, but not enough yet. He will defintely be unthreatened by any dem candidate. They literally have no one us moderate righties can even consider. It's awful over their. If they have one that would be, they'd canibalize him for not being left enough before he even got to half-time.

Personally, I think he would have a tough challenge with today's Rubio though.

Again, those were not generalized remarks toward the black female populace. Those were specific toward 4 named women who first branded themselves as dei or affirmative action recipients.

Ok this is him being political commentator. I haven't watched any of those videos. What I've watched are the more organic back and forth on college campuses.

To his statements, I hate he used the word white people in referring to them taking someone else's place.. That isn't his MO in his organic back and forth on campuses. That's where he was good imo, If these comments are standard for this format I'd have to say it's not something I would watch or agree with any regularity.

Those four women came out and stated that they got to where they are through affirmative action. It is what the discussion was about.
I saw where MO spoke in defense of Affirmative Action but not where she said she benefited from it. Even if she did, CK shouldn't have denigrated her intellect, glass houses and all.

1 more thing.

When your side is winning, shut up and let the other side keep destroying themselves.

Trump should let any idiot speak on the 20% side, but no he has to try to outdo the idiots on the 20% side with something more idiotic.

Agreed, sometimes he just doesn't know when to shut the hell up.

so heres the full quote

Kirk made the statement in reference to Floyd's alleged criminal history and the circumstances surrounding his death. Kirk's exact words were: "I am also going to offer some context and some nuance about the death of George Floyd that no one dares to say out loud. Which is that this guy was a scumbag. Now, does that mean he deserves to die? That's two totally different things — of course not."

Were people justified in calling Charlie a scumbag after his death? Or saying he doesn't deserve to be celebrated?

Yeah, not really. We all know how it works. 'Look how bad these people are, and they're all one demographic' puts in the listeners' minds that the demographic is bad. That said, I would like to know what led into those comments.

This is true. The 2 party system is a detriment to us all...which is why the one thing both parties will unite for is to make sure that they are the only 2 realistic choices we ever have. Tribalism is crippling this country.

That said...there is objectively nothing even remotely similar about Floyd and Kirk. Floyd was a bad man who frequently had to be caged like an animal to protect normal citizens from him and his violence and depravity. Kirk was a married father of 2 little girls that had never tried to harm innocent people and in fact made it his lifes work to try and help people as a Christian leader. He spent most of his time and millions of dollars helping other people. Charlie wasnt a superhero...and there are no perfect people here in 2025. He was by all accounts of those who actually knew him a very good and selfless man. Thats a far cry from holding a pregnant woman hostage with a pistol to her belly while your buddies load up all her valuables. The statues of Floyd are preposterous IMO.
