That's the difference. The parties are different ideology, obviously but they differ in how they react. George Floyd is a great example. Riots everywhere, over a drug addicted criminal that held a gun to a woman's pregnant body. Riots that were condoned by democratic politicians. Democrats and republicans are not the same.

The reason your comparison doesn’t work is the right doesn’t openly support murdering their political opponents to the level the left does. The left always feels justified because they’ll falsely proclaim everyone to be a “fascists”, “Nazi”, “racist”, or in your case you attempted to openly proclaim he opposed equal rights for black people.

But I’d have no issue if anyone on the right was for example supporting the murders in Minnesota, removing them from government jobs.

That's an important distinction in a government that alleges to be representative.

I definitely agree that social media has played a huge role in this. It's a slippery slope with all sorts of privacy concerns and issues (thought crimes for example) if the government/Meta/X/etc. were to actually regulate it. There is no easy answer to this.

I'm just hoping for the outcome that calms the most tensions and some people in here are wanting things to boil over. They want to have more reason to hate. Far right groyper would be a terrible outcome for them. They need it to be somehow related to trans and the left so that trans kids going to school tomorrow can get harassed and bullied even more than normal. They need it to be the left so they can shame 40m voters, as if they had something to do with this.

Not the case for me….I want leadership on the left to take a stand and say the rhetoric has to stop. We are tired of being called deplorable, homophobic, Nazis, Facist and dumb.

Having politician banter is one thing but to take that banter to the public is wrong. It creates division and divisiveness whcih conservatives believe that is the the strategy of the Democrats. Not to debate us on merits in the arena of free speech but to divide us and marginalize us.

Also, the press has to stop being the mouthpiece of the left. Go back to reporting the news and not be beholding to those of power. I fear that will be a tall task as money is driving that machine.

CK was killed because he was having civil discussions that was having a tremendous impact on many lives. Unfortunately he will not be around to continue that but his message lives and will grow exponentially.

Amazing that some Americans want the US government take adverse employment action against a fellow American for expressing her opinion about someone who was not even in the government, let alone the military. Not rejoicing in his death (expressly saying she doesn't condone the violence), just saying she's not going to celebrate the guy in death because he's a racist, which is an opinion that is well-supported (or at least not unsupported). Yep, is it the hormones, is it antidepressants, lack of proper mental health, imagined slights, insecurities, what is it? The one thing they have to realize is that it will probably never be totally embraced and they have to understand that when they go down that road and be monitored closely while doing it. People just ignoring them is a good goal to have..Monitoring then during and after extensive counseling and understanding the consequences needs to occur, and pre-counseling for maybe a year? because frankly it’s dangerous for them and others

I admit my own opinions are clouded by experiences interacting with transexuals. None of those experiences were pleasant but I think most everybody here who knows me can tell you I'm a fairly open minded easy to get along with kind of guy

It was originally reported that the shooter is trans and hard left, but that was retracted. That the roommate was a trans partner has so far only been reported by Fox News/NYP, and the FBI refused to comment on the report.
