Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

We are in the midst of civil war.
But only one side is shooting.
I don't your posting style. This might be tongue in cheek. If it is, disregard my reply.

I don't see us in a war. I see us in a belief system that advocates other people are in charge my emotions well being.

Words, phrases, and ideas, are socially regulated to not offend or anger another. Bad news everybody, I am not responsible for your well being, anxiety, self esteem or feelings. Those are your responsibility.

Race wars? What race war or wars?

I am a white man with 2 black sisters. I promise you that none of us are at war with ANYONE of this world or country. I don't even know of anyone in a "race war". Because it doesn't exist.

TURN OFF the Leftist Media. Do not believe the lies on ABC,NBC, CBS, CNN or even FOX. FOX has never said there was a race war in the US...but they do lie also. Turn that crap off. Get to know REAL people around you. They arent at war with ANYONE unless deployed over seas in the military. Give God a chance. Go to Church man. God is LOVE.

I will pray that you see the truth and tune out the lies. God bless you and yours
Couldn’t agree more with this post. I have been ridiculed with my beliefs a few times without people knowing the truth.

I grew up playing basketball in a black “project”. I had some very good friends there. Once, a group of black kids came in and was trying to pick on me because I was the only white kid at the gym at the time. Guess what? The black kids I was friends with finally showed up and shut it down real fast.

Point is, I don’t give a **** what color you are. I have seen ****** black people and I have seen ****** white people. (Other races too but that seems to be the standard). If I like you and you treat me good, I’ll do the same. Just because you happen to be black and I tell you to **** off, doesn’t make me a racist. You being a ****** person makes you a ****** person.

I agree. An impressive young man. His civility drew people to him.
Don't worry the leftists in here talk about how he "figuratively" got in faces and was "divisive". They say everything except outright justifying and celebrating.

This is violent extremism.

For me (and many others) it was partly because of the video. Another parts is I'm also younger 30s with a child and I broke my knowing they won't have their dad for their big life moments and how much I want to be apart of my kid's big life moments. Lastly, I'm a science teacher in the public school system that leans right in my political beliefs. I keep quiet and don't talk politics with my co workers fearing ostracization. So, I admired him going to college campuses and having open debates with people who don't agree with him
Thanks for sharing all that. Sincerely appreciate it.

No one should die from gun violence except where it was absolutely required in self-defense. However, if I had to choose who would die from gun violence between a kid just trying to go to school and learn who gets gunned down by a mass shooter and a blow-hard far-right political instigator who made his entire living off of raising the political temperature to where it is is now and who said that gun violence is a worth it as the price of admission for having the second amendment, I know which lesser of the two evils I would choose.
This post exemplifies the modern left perfectly.

I'm surprised it doesn't happen more, the Democrats have been calling for violence over the past 6 to 8 years.

And they’ve been getting it. I don’t have the data to back it, but it feels like we’ve seen a lot of trans shooters, ice attacks, attacks on conservative politicians, etc

I look at this forum as a microcosm of the larger conversational sphere. We go off on each other occassionally. We have our petty partisans. But the choice to hate lies solely with me.
Our "leaders" are getting worse. If we are to find respect for one another, it is up to us.
I've got a lot of hate in my heart, and there are indeed some who i would celebrate their deaths. But not like this. Not political ********.

There isn't anyone on this forum i hold any hate for, and though I might think this person or that person is an idiot, I like most everyone here in a we're all vols {even lg (you cant be here this long if you aint in the vols closet)}

I left Tennessee a decade ago for the Mid-Atlantic and this forum is kind of like my Mayberry, making me feel some connection still to where I was born. The political climate here kinda stinks bad enough(I dont mean its too far left or too far right, I mean its just so much finger pointing and link spamming and "these people here are always bad"!) that sometimes I consider leaving, but football season starts and it always brings me back.

Not to be callous towards the man, but why do so many of you feel an emotional connection to Charlie or his murder?
I'll answer too since I saw someone else did.

I disagreed with a lot of what Charlie Kirk said on some specific topics. I believe his general idea was right in a lot of ways. But like I said, he was a milquetoast, mainstream conservative.

If milquetoast, mainstream conservatism apparently deserves this type of violence, what does that mean for those of us that actually fall further right on a lot of issues?

He said his own death is a sacrifice worth the second amendment. I strongly disagree. Sorry, I have more sympathy for kids who don't condone gun violence and still die by the gun.
And while I have the upmost sympathy for innocent children, I also have to stand up for the belief that violence is violence and is only committed by folks messed up in the head. The beliefs they are putting out there isn’t helping that matter at all. Is rednecks with guns are a problem though.

I’m not emotionally connected at all. I’m emotionally connected to the fact that there is a thing called free speech. Just like this board and I hear it way too often, don’t like it, don’t listen or read it. Move on and be a normal human being. He could talk the most **** in the world and wouldn’t deserve to be shot and killed.

I despise Obama, Kamala, and Biden but I would never in a million years wish death on them.
