No bipod? No adjustable cheek pad? No other features to enhance accuracy from a typical prone or seated sniper position? Looks like any normal deer rifle. Not the weapon of choice for a pro for sure.
Seriously though
It's a cheap piece with a composite stock. It's a hunting rifle. It's bolt action and there wasn't a reload attempt (if it is pictured as it was found).
Is the scope set properly for the range at which is was fired?
I fail to grasp how adoption exceeded. Influence exceeded. But the only people adopting fringe ideas are fringe people. The influence of fringe ideas surpasses the boundary of adoption though.I guess though I'm struggling to clearly identify the positive impact or gauge it's relative balance. Maybe it's an issue of means and ends.
I'll return to my original point - the adoption of the fringe ideas greatly exceeded the proportion of the population that held those beliefs. Call it fear, idea amplification, desire to not offend or whatever but these fringe ideas went into practice more broadly than one would expect.
I've made heart shots on deer in excess of 200 yards from a climbing stand arm rest with a Browning .270 semi suto. No cheek rest, etc. 200 yards is not out of reach for a 30-06 to be that accurate off the shelf at that yardage. Now, if we were looking at 300-500 yards, then I'd say a .308 or better. Which is basically a 30-06 bullet with better range and ballisitics. A 7mag is rarely seen in these distance murders, but is a flat screamer out to over 500 yards. No bipod? No adjustable cheek pad? I was literally just thinking the same thing. It is not a fun experienceScope is super far back just asking for scope bite and a really uncomfortable shooting position. Someone would have to be super far back on that stock to avoid it or they got smacked in the glasses/ete socket shooting it.
Which might mean why there wasn't a reload attempt. If you've ever seen someone get scope bite, they aren't eager to take another shot that quickly.

I see similarity when my son's school didn't teach phonics for a few years. So I did. Also, when "new math" rolled out and I taught them 'old math" so they could keep arithmetic simple. That's a good case in point. CRT and critical studies generally, filtered into all grade levels as some form of equity or equality activism well before the pandemic. But it wasn't until the remote-learning period when schools were shuttered, and stay-home parents got a real look at it. It doesn't even require connecting critical studies to its Marxist roots to declare how wrong it is to make classrooms activist arenas.
I don't think talking in terms of a plain or simple majority indicates the health or state of the nation. If >60% of Democrats, who are in practicality 1/2 the populace, find socialism more appealing than market systems, I can't term them fringe or negligible due to being a numerical minority. They're a substantial force to be confronted and wrestled to the ground. Iit's simply stunning that we're having this conversation again and increasingly violently. Parents are more aware and active, but I'm not convinced we've turned a corner.
I absolutely think parents can be a bulwark. And that showing humanity to each other can have some impact. But the left has always known capture the mind of youth and you capture tomorrow, and they've a 70-year head start since Euro socialists migrated here and rebranded under names such as critical studies, progressivism, and recently DEI and such. It's literally going to be cultural, trench warfare and likely to worsen.
Be my ray of sunshine, McDad!
LolololIt seems like you're struggling to reconcile your political beliefs with your espoused religious beliefs, being that they are antithetical to one another in principle.
'Hopes and prayers' that you can find a way to resolve the conflict.
I said from the beginning this was a missed head shot, did not believe it was a professional. I thought current or former student/faculty. They were familiar with this campus. Not that thin...
Again, for the ricochet theory, it would have to be plates and those would be very noticeable. And regardless, plates, even steel ones aren't designed to ricochet upwards since it was a downward trajectory shot.
Simple physics at work here. The angles aren't right at all.
As I told hog just now I don’t disagree. But I think most of our deer rifles are probably not tricked out the same as a professional marksman. The accuracy capability of the weapon is there. The aids just help us feeble old shooters.I've made heart shots on deer in excess of 200 yards from a climbing stand arm rest with a Browning .270 semi suto. But, you gotta be a cold and severly disturbed person to hold a shot on a human like that outside a warfare situation.
For your philosophy to be consistent, the judgement of inflammatory words rests in the person you're communicating with. Not in you. Perhaps then, asking Ulysees and others how you can make posts that are the least likely to contribute to a bad day is advised.I agree 100%, and that is why I choose my words carefully.

3, 4, and 8 don't call for the violent extermination of a race. like I said, it calls for them to be put in ghettos and lose their right to vote.Yeah, and points 3, 4, 8, of the 25 point party platform written by Harrer, Drexler and Hitler and published on 2/24/1920 are what?
That 25 point platform didn't change when they started gaining popularity in 1929, or when they took power in 1933; the people who joined were aware of what they were joining.
Definitely lends to the theory that shooter wasn't exactly a pro.
Was there a second round loaded? Not sure why there would be. He clearly had one target and felt confident enough that he landed a kill shot.
Carolina Panthers Fire Employee for Disgustingly Mocking Charlie Kirk Assassination in insensitive posts
The Carolina Panthers have reportedly fired a junior employee over insensitive posts he made regarding the murder of Charlie Kirk.
According to the Charlotte Observer's Scott Fowler, Charlie Rock - who worked as the Panthers' Football Communications Coordinator - has been dismissed by the team over the alleged posts on Instagram.
Images circulating on social media appear to show that Rock shared a video of Kirk saying 'it's worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year' in order to protect Second Amendment rights, before adding his own comment.
He allegedly wrote alongside it: 'Why are yall sad? Your man said it was worth it...'
Another screenshot also shows Rock's Instagram account allegedly posting the song 'Protect Ya Neck' by the Wu-Tang Clan after Kirk was fatally shot in the neck on Wednesday.

I think they said the expended round was still in the chamber. I could be wrong on that.
Regardless, if he did get scope bite there's a really good chance he didn't follow up even checking the target. I've never had it but seen plenty of people that have and the last thing you want to do is stare down that scope again. Basically, it's like getting punched in the eye socket. You will be crying.
