I saw the Charlie Daniels band and the Marshall Tucker band in concert many times in the 70s. Sometimes all of them playing together on the same stage, they were part of my youth. I will never forget, how time flies. RIP
Same here saw him perform many times. It's another sad day in the state of Tennessee. RIP Charlie and the CDB.

I met home several times during my time in the Pride. He was a huge UT fan, and a big fan of the band as well. Whenever he was in town for a game, he always sat in the band room while we warmed up prior to the game. He always had a warm smile and a quick handshake if you took the time to say hello.

Same thought, part of my youth. Never got tired of seeing him perform. Circle of life is tough. RIP, CD.

Seen him so many times, and I vividly remember growing up with "Charlie Daniels Day" in Mt. Juliet in the early 80s as a kid. Man, we have lost a legend.

Funny story about Charlie. Sometime around 1978 or 79, Judges Gun shop, a popular gun store in Winchester, fabricated a special handgun for Charlie. Probably a Colt with ornate engravings. Most thought it was a bid for publicity by the shop. So, old Charlie swung through during his travels picked up his gift and skeedattled! I wasn't there, but, rumour was it was pretty fast.
