Change coming?

Another example of your ignorance. PFF factors I pass difficulty. JG was one of the best in the country on difficult passes last year and down field throws.

....and yet he still cannot win games or finish drives but hey his stats are what makes UT football great right? Who will you talk about when JG leaves school?

You’re misunderstanding me. Not “on the field” as in SIDELINE...on the field playing but where does it say STARTING? Reads plainly that one particular fan would attend if Maurer was guaranteed some playing time. I don’t see where desiring that is dissing anybody. I’m sure that fan isn’t jazzed to see JG at all but that’s not how it reads.
Ok, well...let me put this in a different perspective. Do you think JJ would want a full stadium for his teammates regardless if he were playing or not?

Only stat that matters is 0-2. If rumors of CJC wanting to go with another qb are true we must listen. The man turned Nate Peterman into a NFL qb from a hot mess.

k-town...I've been in JG threads arguing along with you against sjt defending JG. For me it was mostly on the basis that the o-line was so bad that you couldn't fairly judge JG's play. Not the case so far this year. The o-line might still struggle in short yardage situations, but they have given JG plenty of time to throw. He has not played well this year. I would argue that his play so far this year would be a regression from last season. I think the defense takes the bulk of the blame for GA State with JG getting some blame as well, but JG gets most of it for the BYU game.

I personally think the guy is wound up too tight out there and isn't enjoying the game much. He looks like a guy that has rattled himself with expectations. All the hits the last two years probably didn't help, but it's getting harder to see him finally have everything click and the game slow down for him. The talent is still there, but he's running out of time to take advantage of it.
I agree with most of that.

I have a problem with the people saying he is the worst qb ever and no qb can be worse. We have had worse plenty of times.

Did that perspective come with assembly instructions? 🤨 I hope there’s not a player on the roster who doesn’t want a full stadium on gameday.

If we are up considerably he will get to toss a pitch out to Aaron Beasley.

For him to go in with a close game would take JG throwing 2 pics and a fumble in 1st half.
Other than that it will be mop up, if UT is up early (3rd quarter) they will let him throw a few
and give way to Shrout for hand off's in 4th. JMO
Yeah prol, right , I hope there is some mop up duty to be had haha

8-15 as a starter. Hell, he can win the Heisman Trophy for his "big time tough completion rate". He'll still have a losing record, and UT Football will still be cleaning out their lockers after the last game of the RS.

Winners win tough games. Tough players make the tough plays in the tough games. Or at least beat Georgia State and BYU at home as a favorite. JG left points on the field in both games, with wide-open receivers. There's a lot of blame to be shared, but JG must bear his share of it. Time for you to stop looking at skin color, and start looking at reality.

You ride the JG train, quote whatever stats you can find, and blow that horn as loud as you can. He's 8-15 as a starter. Yeah, that's a .348 winning percentage. Montana, Brady, or Manning he is not. He's not even the Vandy QB whose name nobody remembers, including me.

He has all the physical tools, and none of the mental tools, to win in the SEC. Probably too late to fix it. Time to start working towards the future...and JG is not it.

Go Vols.

He was never a "backup" QB. He was being held back until he understood the system and had adapted to the college football environment.

Well ... he wasn't the starter, and he wasn't the 2nd QB off the bench. But when those 2 went down, he was available to back them up.

As much as I’d like that tweet to mean something, I don’t think it means he’s starting. It probably means he’s been told he’ll get to play once we get up by 63 points, a safe distance between us and them so when our DB’s give up a few long TD passes, it won’t matter.
I dont think they can score 40 let alone 63. I think I seen similar post about GS. heck mine was one. I think I predicted the GS score something like 54-6. We seen how that turned out

who? The good news is , this is probably his last year and you can follow him to whatever NAIA school he ends up at
