Change coming?

well, since we're talking about last year how about Vandy, Florida. We could speak to this year, this game is more than about stats on a sheet of paper. Do his individual stats mean a damn thing in the win department? No, he is what his record says he is.
So you are definitely out on Maurer then right? He had a worse record in hs than JG has vs P5 teams.

How do you know? I'd give him a chance, remember we're 0-2, it can't get worse. Even if he doesn't "Play perfect", he could deliver our first W of the season, something JG, has not done......
The "can't get worse crowd" cracks me up.

Like we haven't had qbs complete 50% or less with multiple turnovers and lose the game. We have had much worse and it can be much worse.

Lmao

I know that. I'm talking about him getting pulled this game when he comes out and misses receivers by 3-feet again.

Saw a stat this morning from PFF where only 42% of his passes against BYU were accurate.
Hey since you love Pff I guess you also agree he is a top 3 SEC and Top 25 NCAA qb who just had a bad game.

It is just UTC for one. The coaching will have more to do with the stats than anything.

I would love for BM to complete 100% of his passes and play perfect like they want from JG.

It's not likely to happen.
Yes that's right. I mean the worst BM could do is throw 3 ints and we lose another game to an inferior opponent due largely in part to poor QB play

I do like Mauer’s absolute swagger.

I mean the kid just runs out on the field without being told when he sees JG’s shoe thrown.

Now he hints at him playing tomorrow to get the fans excited and asking for it.

I mean I understand why JG plays. But you have a QB that has seen enough and wants to help his team. Respect the swag. Hell put him in, he has more drive to produce without taking a snap than JG has ever shown in his time at Tennessee.
What I like is he seems to be the kind of guy who can rally a team. When he came into the O&W game barking “here we go!” I instantly started looking forward to seeing him compete on Saturday. Then just seeing the energy he played with and how the offense responded... it was refreshing. If he can have that kind of affect on me watching from 600 miles away imagine how he influences a huddle.

This could possibly mean nothing more than they've named Maurer the solid #2.

Of course it could mean something more if any of the earlier rumors about Chaney wanting to play someone else are true. And no, there's nothing wrong or unusual with coaches having discussions and disagreement over when or whether to pull a starter that isn't performing well.
Yo Maurer, you’re a Solid #2

People been saying that about JG for a couple weeks ;)

This REMINDS US ALL THAT JG IS ALL ABOUT HIM! He wasn't even excited FOR HIS TEAM when the TD was scored vs Ga Tech making it a one score game. His attitude and disposition was that of a sulking baby! He has never shown many of us any reason to think he is anymore than a 'it's all about me' guy. Yes, many football players are on different levels. JG seems to worry about himself at the highest level. Maybe it is one of the reasons he checks down so much and don't risk throwing into tight coverage. Who knows? I don't dislike the guy. But, I am tired of his QB PLAY or LACK OF IT!!!

Sunshine pumpers never go away. These are the people that don't care about football. These are the people that are okay with participation trophies. These are the people that go to the
games for the social event and hang out with the opponents and tailgate afterwards. Sunshine Pumpers don't really care about winning. Tennessee has more than anybody and that's one reason why we suck all the time.

YEAH, ONLY NEGATIVE NANCY's like you care and are good for UT Athletics. We can all tell by your post you would complain about a perfect day on the beach. Your post is absolutely assinine to say the least!

I dont see what Maurer could do worse unless he is throwing interceptions like parade candy, what has Guarantano done well? he throws into coverage, holds the ball too long, he has fumbled, threw int's, he doesnt read pressure when its coming, i mean he's been good at hand offs i guess and getting the correct play called and he has hit a couple wide open throws but under pressure and when it counts what has he done well? I just dont think after seeing what we have so far that he is going to get comfortable and control the game, hope im wrong cause he has the tools and could be the best option but he's not showing it right now.
