Chaney interviewing with Rams?

I think Chaney is leaving. Anytime there has been even the least bit of smoke about an assistant coach leaving this offseason they have eventually left.

I've heard that his input with the new OL hire was a sign he might stick around, but I'm pretty sure he has been looking around.

IF he does leave (I have serious doubts on the legitimacy of this), I'll be anxious to see how this is spun. I'd be surprised to see him leave, particularly with Bray a rising junior, but nothing this offseason has been normal so who knows.

Point is, I don't think Fisher is interviewing anyone yet for the quarterback coach. He will probably hire the OC first. And then let them have an input on the quarterback coach. That isn't always the sequence but that would be most typical.

Could be smoke...should know soon enough.

Everyone that didn't get an extension is looking. If Chaney gets a decent offer as a position coach, he is gone. Job security just isn't here right now.

That said I would think they would get an OC in place before hiring any offensive assistants.

I will drive my pickup and pull a tandem wheel trailer all the way across the state(west to east) to help get his azz out of town !

I think Chaney will be fine this fall...I really do! When he had all his pieces togther, he called a good game against a ten-win Cincinnati team. Yes, he didn't adjust very well to problems but I think he is still our best option going forward.

What is the current status of his contract? Is he entering the last year or what?

I've never been in the "Chaney was the problem" camp.

That ten win Cinny team had trouble with Vandy. The sprint-draw isn't going to cut it against SEC speed.

Last I heard, Wilcox was the only one with a multiyear contract other than the assistants we have brought in as replacements. I'll endeavor to dig up the article though.

Chaney is not the problem. I hope he stays and especially considering the next OC would probably change the offense... again.
