But isn't that the OC job to be prepared. There were 9 SEC schools that changed QB's last year and TN seemed the least prepared.
Chaney isn't the problem.
No push for even a decent running game was and limited what he could call.
Bray not syudying and being able to read the D and check off to other plays was a huge problem and even with Simms in our running game inproved because he could read the D and checked off when he should have alot of the time.
Losing Hunter took at least 25% of the playbook and tossed it in the trash and that hurt us more than alot of people will believe.
Losing our OC right now would be 1 of the worst things that can happen.
CDD is certainly NOT on the hot seat because AD Hart spent many hours with CDD and likes his solid rebuilding plan and agreed to help CDD with anything he needs which is why AD Hart was happy to help get coaching replacements that he thinks are logical and upgrades he can 100% support.
VFL...GBO!!!
Chaney made some awful play calling. Running the wildcat on the goal line against UK when Neal fumbled had to be one of the worst calls in history of UT. First and goal with Workstation at QB he's out there slinging it around and gets intercepted. It was a combo of alot of things and Chaney was just as much an issue.Yes he is on the hot seat. Another 5-7. Year will get him gone especially with the talent we have and a much easier schedule. When Neyland is half empty Hart won't have a choice.

Bythe way, Chaney can go if he wishes- we will survive somehow without the jet sweep being our base play. Good luck and dont let the door hit your azz as you leave.
The fact that we are returnning one of, if not the most, experienced offensive units in the SEC, and that for most of them they have only had Jim Chaney as their OC, the fact that members of our fanbase want to ax him a few months before spring training is mind-boggling to me.
Something is rotten at UT. You dont need to psychic to see that there is some sort of mass panic to leave the sinking ship that is Derek Dooley football. This used to be a place that coaches wanted to have on their resume : Lovie Smith, Jon Gruden, etc, etc, what the heck has happened to us? Maybe Mike Hamilton is the reason? I dont know but I would pay money to find out.
Didn't realize Fisher wanted to pass it to the same receiver every down. That's a far cry from his standard, run left, run right, incomplete pass to tight end, punt.
