Chances against Bama..

That App St. squad would also beat us right now.

Bammers 42
Dooley 13

I fail to see the point here. I was stating that no one gave those teams a chance just like many of you are not giving Tennessee a chance. THAT APPY STATE SQUAD WOULD HAVE NO CHANCE AGAINST TENN

Hopefully you see the sarcasm...

Here's where all the "Zero chance" realists that's never dreamed a dream need to step up: Which is chance is lower, UT beating Bama or Kentucky beating UT?

I have been arguing that we have a very real chance to beat Bama but even I say that the chances between those two picks have to be on the side of KY

I had to work and only saw the first quarter but it seemed like the Bama DB's got beat a few times early in the game. We will have trouble stopping their run game but it seems like we might be able to pass on them.

Their secondary is very overrated. Dre Kirtpatrick is a Cover 2 corner. He has major trouble with the deep ball same goes for Milner. Menzie is a very good CB and I expect Saban to match him up on D.Rogers. The safeties for Bama aren't as good as people think when it comes to deep coverage. We'll see but that front seven is rough. It will depend on our O-line being able to get a bit of a push.

how does saban recruit all of these NFL type defensive and offensive lineman and linebackers. It was like men against boys when watching that alabama beatdown over florida. They never lose a step---every year he has the same type of physicality on offense and defense.

$$$, cars and suits.. Not that hard to figure out, Bama has been doing since that drunken sot Bryant was there.

We shouldn't have a chance against them but then again we came dang close to killing their National title run a few years ago in Bama. Is this Bama team truly better than the one that won the National Title? I don't like our chances but I see some weaknesses that we can exploit.

I love these kinds of threads.
My point never was, and still isn't, that we have much of a chance of beating Bama. I was really just observing that Bamas only weakness is a pretty glaring one for teams that could possibly take advantage of it. Once again, we probably can't, but if any team forces Bama to depend on McCarron to win, you guys will lose. Macelroy was a lot better.

You notice I said "miracle". My main point is Bama has a pretty big weakness (LSU does too for that matter). Taking advantage of it is the hard part for anybody. But they suck at QB.

Tell us what it is because their biggest weakness isn't nearly as big as several of our weaknesses

McCarron is flat out terrible. LSU can easily beat them by just loading the box and not imploding when they're on offense.

We should get blown out - but Bray still could throw for over 200 yards against their secondary.

LOL

He might not be great but is far from terrible.

Penalties apply retroactively in you are in the repeat violator window. According to the NCAA, we've been on probation for 15 straight years. So yes, we were on probation in 2007.

We have a chance of course. Not a great chance, but a chance. If we can slow TR we have a good shot. Bray will put up numbers on any team if we don't let them hit him all day.

I just hope we make it through this game without Bray getting injured, did you see what they did to Brantley? One thing about Bray that has been impressive is he generally senses the pressure and is able to get rid of the ball and position his body where he doesn't get completely destroyed.

I know what our weaknesses are. I am a UT Volunteer fan. This thread is about Bamas only apparent weakness. If you do not think McCarron is an at best barely decent QB after watching that UF-Bama game, you are either a crappabama gump troll masquerading as a Vol, or just a jacque:moon2:. belairgump

McGill,

If one position isn't a team's strength, it doesn't make it a weakness. McCarron has played against 3 ranked teams and has played pretty much mistake-free football. He isn't the reason we're winning games, but that doesn't make him some kind of glaring liability.
