Chances against Bama..

Yea but in 2009 Bama beat florida 32-13, and we lost to them 12-10. Obviously different teams then, but this happens ever year in the SEC, any given saturday...

I thought it was general knowledge that you dont do game comparisons like that??? I mean they could overlook the Vols, they could have an injury between now and then, Jesus could come back, there are a lot of reasons to at least PULL for your team to get a W. Dont give me that "I am being realistic" garbage either. I understand that on paper they are the superior team BUT there have been many superior teams that have lost in the past and BAMA is no different
Nobody is saying not pull for the team, just being realistic.
The rankings going in:

AP Poll
#3 Alabama
#12 Florida (before today)
#36 Tennessee

Tough to beat a top 3 team, possibly the #1 ranked team when UT pays them.
Like you said, on paper no one is going to give UT much of a chance.
Right there have been superior teams that have won, but UT is not playing that well other then the passing game.
Alabama is playing lights out.

Well I guess I will just be really dissappointed in the BAMA outcome while you will only have a tingle of hurt somewhere deep down...stupid hopes

OKY let u slide the first time but don't be so negative and bring in stupid numbers and rankings. It is still SEC football and you have to bring it every week. By your comparisons #1 preseason ranking should win the national championship right. we probably shouldn't even go to bama just declare a loss now?

nobody knows who wins until you play the game.
That said, they looked like world beaters vs Florida.

Sorry but I put dedication to reality higher then dedication to the vols.
This game is going to be incredibly tough to win.

We do have another overlooked strength in this game though. Teams have damaged us running around us. But nobody, UF included, has prospered trying to run right at us. Bama will run right at us, all day, the question is how long can our 2 freshmen hold up. It will not be as easy for any team to run between the tackles against us any more. I do not think AJ and Kurt are ready yet for this kind of assault, but it will be very interesting to see how they do.

They looked better after Brantley went down which affected the outcome of the game. I would not call them world beaters until they play the rest of their SEC schedule which seems to expose most teams weaknesses. Although Bammer is a great team any thing can happen on any given Saturday.

Bama will run around us, or right through us. Basically wherever the hell they want to run. '

I am not disagreeing that Tennessee will have to play the game of the last 3-4 years to beat BAMA or LSU but I just dont like people who say there is no chance like we are from DIV II or even a mid major...we are an SEC team dang it

Being a SEC team has nothing to do with beating a team that has more talent. You are like several posters on this board that always claim the other team is not that good. By next year Tenn I believe will be able to play with anyone.

Please find the POST where I claimed that the other team was NOT good, on the contrary I just stated a couple of posts before that Tenn would need the game of the last several years to beat Bama or LSU. The only CLAIM I have made is that Tennessee is better than you supposed fans give them credit for. Do I really have to be constantly nagging my favorite team or can I support it not blindly but at least giving them the chance. Pretty sure that over the 91 year history between Tenn-Bama there were many times when the team that was better on paper ended up losing the game...very likely because of a similar attitude that you have "oh there is no chance that THAT team can beat us" Get your facts straight and get at me when you do...

You guys are not much on reading comprehension are you? :) I do not expect us to beat Bama. The chances are extremely small. However Bama does have a big weakness. I know that we most probably are still too young/thin to take advantage of it, but the weakness exists. Bamas QB is garbage.

Big weakness? Garbage? True, but McCarron and the rest of the team probably doesn't realize that to be not be garbage you should average 2.4 yards per carry, abandon the run, and sling it 40 times a games. I honestly hope that you are not serious with this statement.

That QB you call garbage has basically the same completion percentage and yards/attempt average as your boy. It's a shame that when his team went to the Swamp the offense was able to generate positive rushing yards and he didn't have to break his arm off trying to save the day.

Think. Before. You. Speak.

No chance. That LSU-BAMA game should determine the National Champion though. Bama isnt gonna overlook us ever, and LSU hasnt even needed an offense in most games so far.

I just hope the bama D doesnt kill Bray or knock him out for the season. If that can be avoided, we should count it as a win.:)

We gave up a lot of running yards to a couple of inferior teams. I think Alabama will find lanes to run, whether its inside or outside.

They looked better after Brantley went down which affected the outcome of the game. I would not call them world beaters until they play the rest of their SEC schedule which seems to expose most teams weaknesses. Although Bammer is a great team any thing can happen on any given Saturday.

True losing Brantley hurt Florida, but Alabama has been in this position before (in the hunt for the NC).
So I expect Saban to have them ready and for them to continue to improve.
I just don't think UT has played that well up to this point, outside of the passing game.

Nega Vols Suck... we have a chance to beat bama and i think we will, i believe, if you don't that's your problem so keep it to yourselves. The negativity around this forum is down right saddening, yeah some call it being a realistic, but i prefer to be optimistic, tennessee can win every game they have left to play. GO VOLS

Do you honestly think UT will win? Or are you just trying to play the "real fans believe" card?

Some of you need to learn the difference between negativity and reality.

UT has little chance, but hopefully the play bama better than florida did--that loss was embarrassing.
