Chances against Bama..

You notice I said "miracle". My main point is Bama has a pretty big weakness (LSU does too for that matter). Taking advantage of it is the hard part for anybody. But they suck at QB.

We'd have to RUNN OFT... to stay in the game. We will end up being MEN OF CONSTANT SORROW.

I never thought Ingram deserved the Heisman--Richardson, unfortunately, may deserve it. He's certainly in the discussion

I give us a strong 6% chance of winning this game. Our only advantage is they dont get a bye until after our game. Also, their next game after us is the big lsu game.

Alabama's defense looks as good as I have seen...no weaknesses! With that being said I just don't see how we can make this a close game...hope so, but don't see it!

we have a punchers chance I suppose if alabama was say in thier late 40's and we were young 20's and cock strong. I mean after all we are vols but if we play this game 100 times we are beat 94 of those times.

The best hope seems to be to score early and hope for a late season hurricane to force an early end to the game.

If we score more points than they do, I'm gonna say we'll have a good chance of winning.

Only chance is if they play down to our talent level, but that happens alot in this rivalry. One team can worlds above the other and its still a nail biter.

That being said,I think they destroy us.

I have hope when I am drinking. seriously though, it is possible. the 3rd Saturday is October is usually a great game no matter what level either team is.

If our pass offense stays the way it is and we can get some run here and there, we should be able to give bama run for the money..I dont think we will get blown away. Actually I dont think given our offense no team in Nation can blow us out..we will always produce..Bama game will depend on how well our defense sticks up to their run offense..They have been good so far..but Bama and LSU will be time for Wilcox to show what tricks he has really got..I like the guy and he will produce over time but I am just pulling for him to just pull a good one against the big boys...

Didn't we have them beat two years ago down there? When they were all-world and won everything? Oh right, we had no chance then either though I'm sure. I don't think we will win but I will never just count us out.

Go ahead and count yourself out. ut will not beat Bama.

The vols would be best served starting Simms. Bray won't survive the beating and without him ut is toast the rest of the year. Hopefully for his sake Simms makes it out alive. Like another poster said, Bama will run wherever the hell they want to run.

Do you honestly believe they should start Simms??? I mean what is one of the biggest questions about Bray still-How will he handle the big boy games, right? So how will we ever know the answer if we puss out and put in second string like this is some last week of the preseason NFL game. I hope that the people who are saying we are best served to put in Simms have serious sarcasm mode going for the sake that Bray might get hurt, BUT ITS FOOTBALL...he could have got hurt in the 1st quater against Buffalo.

There is a chance...I mean Appy State, JMU, they had "no" chance either. I think that our chances to pull one off against BAMA (even though its in Tuscaloosa) is better than beating LSU at home simply because we are playing them a week before a possible #1 #2 matchup with LSU, they could overlook us by focusing on that game

I think they have a bye week after us. Still I hope your right and they are looking two weeks ahead

After watching that game tonight. If by some miracle we can slow down their running game and force Bama to have to rely on McCarron[sp?]to win, we have a shot to win and so does anybody else that plays them. That guy is worse than Macelroy. Maybe having these huge LBs will pay off in this game. Of course we would also have to get far enough ahead to force this..and there is the rub. That defense is rough.

ts worry bout UGA and LSU before we think about Bama.

My mistake you are right...just took a quick glance at the schedule they play LSU on Nov. 5th but my statement remains that the possibility for them looking ahead to that game and the possible national title implications it may have.
