Chair backs at Neyland

I never understand people that have been to about 3 games trying to explain to people that have been to 50 what a true fan should do.

I lived in Colorado for 23 years, kind of hard to make it out to games. I never got to see my cousin play and now that I'm back in TN i have gone to two games each year. as you know i took a large pay cut to make this transition and i did it all for Tennessee. Once my salary allows, I will again supply tickets to fans I've never met to attend Bama games just to keep their fans away. but keep *****ing about how much money you donate and how you're to crowded.

lol...I've got no idea what your backstory is and I've never said the first thing about how much I make or how big my donation is because it doesn't matter. All I'm pointing out is how dumb it looks for one guy to tell another guy how to be a fan.

It's not complicated.

I wouldn't run them out. Instead I would have a section dedicated for them.

The problem is that many of these ticket-holders give a crap ton of cash to the program. They pay high dollar for those seats and you can't just move them out and keep the money flowing.

I've come to the point where I just try to be respectful. I stand and yell when the situation warrants, and I annoy people behind me at times. But, I know that we aren't all in the same place in life and try to consider those around me when possible.

Great post Kiddidoc!

A little Respect goes a long ways. Also, no one likes the 30 year old drunk guy who won't stop screaming and is an ass about blocking everyone's view. If the whole section behind you is sitting, then sit. It's just the right thing to do and you're a spectator/ not a participant.

Serious question regarding chair backs. For those of you who have the chair backs and have to sell tickets for games you cannot attend on secondary markets like Stubhub, do you find that the chair back helps the ticket sell faster, or at a higher price?

now class, there are times for sitting and standing and if you are unfortunate enough to not being able to stand long and are surrounded by standers, and if it bothers you that much you likely need to make some changes. the prime reason i say that is because UT is hungry.. the fans are hungry and the noise needs to be relayed to the team on the field because it shows the support we have for our team and i'm sure this plays into the minds of not only the players on the field but those of whom we are attempting to recruit who may be in attendance. the expectations of team 120 cause me to pity your arse this year old buck.

..the people you complain about are the ones who contribute the dollars that make the program go...and if they are teaching logic these days I might recommend a class as you seem to believe making noise and sitting are mutually exclusive.

I usually mention it, but in all reality, I don't think it really matters. The secondary market you are selling to on gameday are not consistent attendees, and really don't comprehend the nightmare of you trying to fit 4 people in what is now 3 spaces because of wideloads/inconsiderate selfish peeps. jmho

I'm all about respect but that 30 year old drunk guy screaming is ass off is what wins football games and gives Neyland a better reputation.

One thing this whole post has done and that was convince me to order the chair backs. I guess I forget every year about how miserable I am half way thru the season because the row seems to grow. Not going to have that happen this year!

There are two aspects apparent in this discussion. The most important to me is the obesity question. Earlier, there was a mention of airline seating, and it is the tack of which I am most affected. If you are too big to fit in the assigned seating area, buy two tickets. I travel extensively to Thailand for business and have to essentially pay for 50% of the seat mates fare. Likewise, at Neyland, I have to pay for 50% of far too many fans' seating.

While traveling, it affects my back when these types infringe on my space. Now, Neyland is a shorter experience, but the principle remains. If you enjoy your food so much, pay for the storage space.

And the fat and smelly Notre Dame fan:

OK, rant over.

Anyone have these on the aisle? I am considering them this year just for space keepers and to keep knees out of my back when sitting. I've got seats 1 and 2 and always end up sitting halfway off just so we have more room.

My father has had aisle season tickets for decades and the chair backs work just fine. Since my son has long legs, he sometimes uses aisle when not too crowded. Much prefer this to carrying around chair backs all day.

I have 1&2 as well this year and ordered them just for that reason

This is so comical... It's like you can't chew bubblegum and walk at the same time. I sat for 3/4 of the OU game, but had a splitting headache and couldn't talk for 3 days afterwards ( the headache may have been caused by the outcome) It's almost like it is physically impossible for some that you can't scream and sit at the same time. We always stood on 3rd or 4th down, but screamed all 4 downs.
