I don't know if it's the fact that not playing for almost a month has affected Texas Tech in this game like many top seeds. Whatever the case,this game is beyond ugly.

It has to be. There's something to be said about being in a groove and maintaining your playing mentality over time, especially at this time of year with all the distractions.

I think it’s pretty obvious, at this point, that the bye is a curse. It’s just too much time off, and rust develops. Last year too, all of the top 4 teams looked awful.

They’re absolutely going to do something about it if all of the top 4 teams lose this year.

Watching them today they do have a championship level defense. Their offense was able to do just enough to fool alot of people playing Big 12 defenses.

Could also be that Tech has a very mid tier coach who’s at a school that basically wrote a blank check to buy a roster.

McGuire isn’t exactly someone that has track record of getting teams ready for big games.

You know how in spring games defense is almost ahead of offense because so much of offense is based off timing. These long layoffs for teams is impossible to ignore the rhythm and chemistry teams lose. It seems playing in opening game is an advantage to shake rust off.

You know how in spring games defense is almost ahead of offense because so much of offense is based off timing. These long layoffs for teams is impossible to ignore the rhythm and chemistry teams lose. It seems playing in opening game is an advantage to shake rust off.

It’s just too long of a gap between games. The 1 seed in the NFL doesn’t have this same problem (usually) because they don’t wait an entire month before they play again.

They’re definitely going to change things next season. It’s better to just play for a 5 seed or below at this point.
