He didn't. There's no need for every SEC team to be playing an additional two MAC/Sunbelt/American/Mountain West/CUSA teams on top of an FCS team. It's a matter that's been on the table for this conference since like 2014.

Yeah, that they're not getting zero return or losing money on those "investments" sponsoring the other bowl games kind of makes the rest of the argument fall apart...

Not just beat them but bullied them around all game. Oregon's offense only scored a single FG in the second half and that was it, ending the game with less than 200 yards passing and less then 85 yards rushing. If not for an errant pass that got returned for a pick 6 in the 4th quarter, they would have lost by 17 (if not more) points.

If you are implying the Little10 9 game schedule is equivalent to the SEC 9 game schedule in strength then I got beach from property to sale you in Tennessee at a great price.

Wrong UT, has a win over a 7&5 but go ahead an accentuate the negative & eliminate the positive on your team if that makes you feel better. All our 3 losses are to top 10 payoff teams and we beat one of them in regulation but we missed a give me FG as time expired nothing their D did, even Kirby said they got outplayed.

I follow this x account because it shows how the bcs would have ranked compared to the CFP. I'm a believer that the committee needs to go away and playoff seeding should be decided by the bcs.

If we were playoff worthy, we would have beaten one of
the 3 teams we lost to. Just beat Vandy and all we be right
in Vol land.

that's what I'm thinking as well. It's impossible to know who the best x # of teams are when the top 25 doesn't all play the same caliber teams. Not sure how it would work, but I could even see it going to a 24 team playoffs with a play in game (24 vs 25) and getting rid of conference championships and off weeks.

College football is all about money now anyways... so better matchups would mean more watching and attending I would think

The similarity in rankings makes me wonder if perhaps the committee is not using the BCS formula to guide them. Then they simply adjust teams, upward or downward based on “the eye test“.

Well why you guys are arguing about the playoffs a very hungry snd motivated team awaits to humiliate the Vols @home! They better be prepared or the season will end with a loud thump. strength of schedule and then who did you beat.

USC has 2 wins against top 25 teams. tennessee has zero wins against ranked teams and in fact the only team Tennessee beat who has a winning record is ETSU lol

Indiana has a win over a top ranked oregon team. TAMU does.not. if TAMU beats Texas I believe they will leapfrog Indiana. and they will most certainly leapfrog them if they win the SECCG.

so I don't think the rankings are as nonsensical as you think they are

I would like fewer teams as well but the most important thing, imo, is to get rid of the first round bye. So yeah I’d prefer 8 teams but if not 8 I guess move to 16
