The sad part of this is, they had to actually try that ridiculous model to see that it wouldn't work. I want to get paid a lot of money to make poor decisions. 95% of college football fans knew that wouldn't be fair.

The best 4 teams should get in, but I guess we are going to have to accept 12 and then later 16.

I don't think they are doing away with auto-bids. They are simply changing the seeding format to where conference champs are not guaranteed the top four seeds. The four P4 conference champs as well as the highest rated G5 team will still automatically qualify.

The problem is How do you judge who the best teams are for the postseason when the regular season is so watered down? I don’t even watch pro sports anymore. Teams are resting players In order to just win a enough marginal games to get into the playoffs. Ohio St was ready to throw in the towell once they were a lock for the playoffs, but that skews the data for everybody else’s ranking.

I don't think the need to get rid of auto bids, but just seed teams based on where they're ranked. The big mistake was having the top 4 conference champs as the top 4 seeds. I think it makes for interesting matchups to have 1 group of 5 team in there.

It's past time to do away with the conference championship games. If they don't get you an auto playoff bid, then there is no benefit to playing an extra game that you could lose.

Doing that would level the playing field between the P4 conferences and Notre Dabe, too. If you want a conference championship, just award it to the team with the best regular season record in conference. If two or more teams tie for that record, award co championships.

I agree somewhat, except the broadcast networks will push to keep them for the revenue. Also, imagine if say the Big Ten comes down to a number 2 Ohio St playing a number 12 Oregon...Oregon wins and they are in the CFP...Oregon loses and they are out. Too much drama in those type scenarios for the networks to give up the conference title games.

We would have thumped SMU in Neyland. Got UGA with no Beck on a neutral site...love our odds there. Then ran into OhSt or Texas...probably bowed out there, but a top 4 finish would have been stellar.
