Hardest part of working on many cell phones today is just getting them apart. Once open, they are usually just a mainboard with some cables that run to various items like your screen, digitizer, camera, etc. Unplugging a cable is simple if you've ever worked with computers or electronics before.
Good thing now is there's usually a video somewhere on the internet of someone taking one apart.
Is the LCD messed up? Or just the glass on top? If it's just the glass, you need a digitizer. If you can get just that, it's fairly cheap (amazon, ebay). Finding someone to put it on might be difficult. If you buy the whole screen with LCD, that would make your repair much easier. Open phone, disconnect the lcd and digitizer cable, plug in new one, and reassemble the phone.
Unfortunately, from what I've seen, Motorola smartphones are generally on the harder side to open compared to others. Try to find a disassembly video and see what you think.
