CBS unimpressed with UT Vols

I find it laughable how you boys get your panties in a bunch about the lack of respect the Vols get when they haven't done much to earn it.

Gary Parrish of CBS has the basketball Vols as the preseason #3 team in the country for 2018-19... if that makes anyone feel better.

I'd be worried about them if they were impressed at this point in the 2018 schedule

It's true. There is nothing to be impressed or unimpressed with. Teams can look good in practice and perform poorly in game situations. Your level of play must be factored by the team your standing across from on Saturday.

No way man! Preseason polls are practically meaningless except setting expectations for this fan base. Anyone who thinks the Vols will finish 3rd or better next season is setting themself up for failure.

It's not laughable.

We are elite and are one of the nation's most highly regarded football programs in history. It is inconceivable we would not be recognized on that basis alone.

Using that logic, that makes Tennessee the Notre Dame of the south. Rich histories fewer and fewer people living can say they witnessed. Yet, their fans keep retelling stories their late Grandpas told them.

Like I said......

we were 4-8 and had a coup des tas to over throw the AD and coach he hired.

no one should be impressed until it's time to be impressed. do something on the field and impressions take care of themselves. this program is making progress on the recruiting trail right now, and eventually (hopefully sooner than later) it'll translate on the field.

but for now...yeah, there's really nothing to see here. and no one should be upset about it.

I read the article.....I get it. UT has not one player on the national radar, not one game that a national audience is dying to see, and coming off the worst season in history.

The only real thing to see from a national perspective is what Athletic Employee is fired next?

It's coup d'etat, Jake. Next time google it when you aren't sure.

On one positive note: September 15th should be a win. UTEP was 0-12 last year and they are a preseason #129 out of 129 teams per the Orlando Sentinel.

The national perception of the university and the football team can be laid at the feet of the hiring processes and those that control them at UT. They've been nothing short of embarrassing, hamstringing the school for more than a decade.

If I could give more than one like I would... but only because I couldn’t agree more.

Our leadership has been nothing short of terrible.
