So, in advising another poster who wants to hear directly from Butch, ye tell "let it go" but this you want to perpetuate? Maybe you can advise Butch to speak publicly about this??

Yeah, he has backtracked on what was said and the context of the conversation.

Kids was borderline on losing his offer, i guess a recruited over thing, and CBJ was giving him a heads up on it to look at other school.

Ainge also said he confirmed that CBJ did not contact the majority of the current recruits.

yeah, this sounded kind of iffy to me. even in what was reported, he said "find some place to go quick"....may have simply tried to do the kid a favor, maybe knowing that the kid didn't have a ton of options to begin with, and now that CBJ's out at TN, the likelihood of him getting that scholly in knoxville was tenuous at best.

Just like with most other Butch rumors, I'd bet this one is true as well. The kid just didn't make that up on the fly. He probably realized, after the fact, how badly it painted Jones, and went into damage control mode. And Ainge carrying water for Butch is proof of nothing.
