Carolina Panthers

I don't think VY is 100%, but either way the Panthers do have experience defending a mobile QB twice a year until 2007. Normally I would feel good about it with Pep and TD roaming sideline to sideline, but hopefully they can keep containment.

Also, the WR's of Tenn don't scare anyone, which is fortunate for our team. I think this is the team we can match up really well with on D.

However, with Carr back there, their D line will get pressure, and then of course a lot of sacks. Hopefully we can establish the run so Vandenbosch, Haynesworth et all won't be pinning their ears back the whole game.
i don't think Vinny or Carr will offer much hope against their D line by way of mobility. this is the one match up that i think definitely favors the Titans. and this will be a game where feild position will matter, and whoever wins the turnover battle, likely wins. so protect the ball at all costs.

At least VY is turnover prone at times. However, we all know that Carr is sure to throw the ball right at a defender at least once a game, and he'll most likely fumble while getting sacked as well.

true.....but like we said...these two teams are a lot alike, so i'd expect nothing less.

given how much they let him throw it last Sunday, this would be my primary concern.

3rd and long will suck for us.

I'd like to see some PA and a total commitment to the run. Keep the D off the field and wear down theirs. That way if we don't throw on 1st or 2nd down, we'll have some 3rd and manageables and no excuse to turn the ball over. Assuming of course, DeShaun doesn't Foster the ball (he's got 5 fumbles this year and almost had his 6th last week).

the 1st qtr of the colts game was as close to what Fox and Co. would like to be able to do consistently as you'll ever see.

the problem is, can they with Carr as the QB? will anyone buy him as a passer? if we're one dimensional, and carr can't get it done, which wouldn't surprise me, it could be a long day.

I saw Carr do very well at time during Houston when the Titans played him twice a year - but he had no protection and made a lot of dumb decisions due to that, and I expect him to be under a lot of pressure in this game. But if there is one thing the Titans don't do well on defense it's preventing long passes. We screwed up against Houston and Tampa Bay, which lost us that game. The guys have been in perfect position but just don't make the play or they fall down.

I don't see you running the ball well, but I think David Carr can have a little success if we turn it over like we usually do and give you the ball on our 30. Titans can be a top 5 team if they can put it in the endzone and stop settling for FGs. I think this game comes down to VY's decision makings. If he has 2 or more turnovers, Panthers win. If he doesn't turn it over much, Titans win.

I'd say that's a sure fire way to lose... the Titans D is giving up the least rushing yards in the NFL at just over 64 ypg.

The only way to beat them is by beating their secondary, which is often suspect... especially over the top.

Bingo ^

That's why the first round pick Michael Griffin is starting now. We didn't give up any bombs last week like we did every single week before. Dunno if we can cover Steve Smith well.

oh, well that's great news. we do so well with Carr flinging the ball all over the place.......:eek:lol:

colts 31
Panthers 13

i think we'll see Vinnie and David play this week for some reason. one of them will start, struggle, and the other will get in.
:whistling: save a couple of meaningless Kasay fg's......pretty good if i do say so myself.

:lolabove:

David Carr is like Chad Pennington to me. He is impressive at times and scary when he's on- but just not enough consistency

Not to rub it in - but if you look back at my post - David Carr would get knocked out of the game.

We do suck. I didn't even watch the entire game, I've lost interest, how sad. I see they actually scored. And at what point do they say ok, Carr is not doing anything for us, lets put in Matt Moore for a series or something.

well, that was les than inspiring. Carr sucks. the defense sucks. the coaching sucks. and tennessee sucks too, they just suck less than we do.

what a pathetic performance yesterday.

penalties, turnovers.........i think the game can be summed up in this:
the panthers first 1st down was a result of two off sides/encroachment penalties on the Titans.

I think Carr would go down if he was hit by a feather.

just absolutely putrid.
