Carolina Panthers

I'm very glad that Clausen is inked. He needs all the time in camp that he can get.

This camp is going to be one of the most interesting ones ever in Panthers' history.

Jarrett is going to get cut. I'm calling it here and now. This morning, he's already run the wrong route a couple of times while looking confused, and now he's limping around like he's got a hammy issue (per Darin Gantt).
Gantt also says Kenny Moore is taking his opportunity seriously. Has already been singled out for praise today.
Charles Johnson and Eric Norwood have both been looked at under the tent. No word yet on whether or not they are injured.
Some rookie LB had to leave due to a bee sting.
Beason is playing WLB.

Thanks for the updates Panthro. I'm to the point of approving a Jarrett cut. He cannot get his act together and is a liability in the passing game.

I hope LaFell steps up big time because we need him to be what we hoped D. Jarrett would be....

Lovin' it.

Panthers-Ravens "Monday Night Football" on Thursday night.

Can't wait to see what the kids have in them, especially Jimmy boy.

To me, the biggest surprise of the night was Greg Hardy. He looked unstoppable.

I liked Clausen's poise and he had some nice throws as well but it's clear that Moore should be the starter for now and it really isn't close...

Greg Hardy was a stud, but I think I was even more impressed with Tyrell Sutton. That kid is an outstanding 3rd running back. He would be a good #2 for some teams.
Clausen did well for his first game. That pick was Dexter Jackson's fault. Speaking of that, were we wearing different cleats or something? How come our players couldn't keep from sliding around?
What was with Gross last night? At least we know he's a pro and will pull it together soon.
Norwood was also pretty tough, I thought.
I sure hope Tyler Brayton is back soon from that little ankle sprain. He's really an important part of that line.
Edwards is nowhere near where he needs to be. You could just tell he was in a new position last night. Our receiving group just made too many mistakes, I think.
Oh, and Hunter's new last name should be Cantplaywell.

Tony Pike played at the end of the game. He was actually worse than Cantwell. I think he might be released, and picked up by Cincy.

Be sure to watch Hard Knocks next week, as the show will highlight the Jets/Panthers game. It seems that Richardson has already informed the Carolina player that he expects them to remember all the mics that will be present, and "keep it clean."

No surprises there... Big Cat is all class.

woo woo! a win feels nice, but after watching last nights game, this year is going to be hard to watch. Also, I don't know if I've seen Moore get so animated after plays so much as he did last night. Our offense isn't going to get any better for him anytime soon, but he needs to control it inside and act like a better leader.

Well I think Smitty and Stewart will help out the offense a ton. I wouldn't get too worried yet.

I'm kinda thinking this way too. Otah also isn't in the line-up and he's a bull and a very good blocker.

With the full offense, I think we'll see performances like the Giants and Vikings games last year.

Also, the defense is just nasty. I'm so pumped to watch these guys, they're flying all over the field and swarming the ball carrier.

I don't put a whole lot of stock in this stat, but I do wish we could have gotten at least one offensive touchdown in the preseason. Maybe the return of Stewart and Smitty will do the trick. Otah will be missed while he's out, though.

I'm with you on this. Kinda makes me uncomfortable. However I like what Moore brings to the table and I've loved how this team has played on defense so far.

It truly reminds me of the 2003 team. We didn't know what we had and it ended up great. Let's hope for similar results with this bunch... :eek:k:
