Carolina Panthers

Hey pit stains, how about we make a wager on the 9ers v. Panthers game this year?

I have actually considered going to that game. Consider that an easy "W" for the Panthers.
As for Matt Moore, yes, he is the starter and will be the man. He's got an outstanding offensive line, backfield, and at least one receiver. He doesn't turn the ball over and he makes good decisions. I don't think the Panthers will win more than nine games this year, but it won't because of Moore. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do wth a full season.
Clausen better get comfortable.

looking real good man..miami already had a great running game, they just needed a big time playmaker on the outside to help henne ... the defense is young, fast and tough..let see what happens!

is matt moore really the starter in carolina? or do you expect jimmy to take over..

btw i wanted to asked a panther fan this..how do you feel about julius pepper leaving? was he overrated?

Heebs pretty much said it best. I was often frustrated with Pep and I'm not just saying that to be bitter or anything.

The guy has worlds of talent and could be one of the greatest DEs of all time but he just seems to settle. He also wasn't really a vocal leader and that would have made him even more elite (Jared Allen for example...).

But his first couple of years in Carolina were undeniably good and he was a very loyal player while with the Panthers. I think he just wanted a change of scenery because he grew up in NC, when to UNC and got drafted by the Panthers...

As far as Moore is concerned, I honestly think you'll see a situation like the 49ers in that I think Moore will start and do well this season but the young guy will supplant him the next year and do extremely well. But IMO Clausen>Alex Smith :)

Glad to see there are some Panthers fans here. I'll be checking back for the updates. Go Vols and Go Panthers!

ray lewis>patrick willis

In his prime, yes, last year, no.

Patrick Willis is a beast, but I will give Ray Lewis credit though...He has killed a man, Willis can't say that...

Wow, that's not a homer comment. This is not the same 49ers team that played you all in 2007....Mike Nolan is no longer our coach, you know that right?

Offense-I'll say an edge for you with Smitty, Stewart and Williams, but Crabtree is gonna be beast for us as well and Frank Gore and Vernon Davis. Both QBs are meh. Smith can't handle pressure well, and your boy Moore has thrown over 200 yds only twice in his life. He did good at the end of the year last year, but there really wasn't much pressure on him to win and get to the playoffs. Our line is young with the two 1st round picks this year, so I'll give you the line, cause I know your line is good.

Defense-Sorry, we are better. Our CBs are a little suspect, but our LBs are the best in the NFL. You have Jon Beason, who is a beast, but y'all lost Peppers. While yet he is a tool for what he did to you, he is great, and can't be replaced. Gamble is also good for y'all from what I remember. D-lines are about even.

Special Teams - Us. Neither of our teams scored a TD off returns, but Kicking and Punting we have the edge. Also, with the addition of Ginn Jr. will give us a boost with our return game.

I say it'll be a close game, but 9ers win a close low-scoring game. I will give Panthers credit and I know that they can just as easily win and I respect them.

Give me Kasay over whoever you've got. Frankly, over anyone else in the league.

Not meant to be a homer statement, just a trash-talking statement!
Carolina has a better offense, and if you even admit that our d-lines are even, then that's bad news for the Niners. Our d-line is the weakest link, by far. Our o-line is awesome.
Being in Charlotte makes it easier for me to be confident in this game.
For the record, I think Willis is the freaking man. Seems like he'd be just as easy to love as Beason is to Carolina fans.
Heebs, I'm glad you still have confidence in Kasay. I'm starting to worry that his age might be catching up to him.

I like your confidence, however the one thing that cannot be stressed enough here is the two-headed monster.

Whenever the 49ers D thinks they've got D. Will contained, they'll get hit with Stewart and with a healthy O-Line this year, they're probably going to surpass the record they set last year.

If you cannot stop the run, you can't win football games. Panthers will win a close one.

Kasay may not have the same leg strength he used to but from 49 yards in, he's money. Plus he's seen all the big spots, he doesn't get rattled.

(Just with two minutes left on a kick off in the Super Bowl)

Armanti Edwards is inked. This leaves only Clausen and LaFell unsigned.

I'm actually thinking about going to training camp this year. Hopefully I won't have a heat stroke.

Spartanburg in August= Hell

I enjoyed getting all of Darin Gant's tweets from camp last year. Well, except the one about Kemo going down.

I'm thinking I might go as well. But toughen up! :p

Brandon LaFell is inked. This leaves only Jimmy Clausen unsigned. I'm sure he'll sign before camp though.

Looking forward to training camp!

What do you all think about the rumors that T.O.'s next team could be the Panthers? I didn't believe it would be a possibility until Beason quickly took back his comments about T.O. and apologized. I've also read that Jarrett could likely be out, leaving us in need of some sort of a veteran to work with Smitty.

We could use him, that's for sure, but I don't know how well he'd do opposite Smitty (character wise) and catching balls from Matt Moore or Jimmy Clausen (two unproven young guys without top flight talent).

I thought they determined that the Simpsons' Springfield was in Delaware or somewhere up that way.

there was a contest that a springfield got to host showing the movie first....but it was a contest, it didn't really make anything official I believe

I honestly considered it around Kentucky ish due to needing a Shelbyville nearby, not being the capital city, and their joke of smuggling sugar from south of the border was "you mean Tennessee?".....they're behind the music joke episode did also call them a northern kentucky family

they've gone back since the movie to making it as vague as possible though

Steve Smith is on WFNZ right now helping to host the show. They've done interviews with Kalil and Gross, and now Matt Moore is on. Smitty is a goofy dude. I'm sure this audio will be posted soon in case you can't check it out now.
