Carolina Panthers

I like these moves so far. I still think they'll get something worked out with Kyle Love to come back on the DL. Not expecting a long-term deal with Norman, but that would be nice. We don't need any distractions, and he could become one as OTAs and mini-camps approach.

I was hoping to start the season in Denver on that first Thursday night game. What an amazing start to the season this will be.
"Dab-on-dem-folks!"

So who are you guys hot on for the draft? I'm hearing a lot of buzz about Vernon Butler, Hunter Henry and Derrik Henry for Carolina. I'm really hoping for either Dodd or Ogbah but we'll see. Can't quite get excited about the idea of Hunter Henry in the first.

I'd like a corner or pass rusher there, if neither is available, I like going BPA.

It really feels like Gettleman doesn't care a lot about the secondary. Hasn't he even said that there's no such thing as a shut-down-corner, only shut-down defensive lines?
I don't think this will change his strategy at all next week. He's proven he really does go BPA. I would just love it if Mackenzie Alexander happens to be that BPA at 30.

Now the question is does Norman want to get paid and play for a garbage team like San Francisco or Jacksonville, or will he come off his demands and take a little less to stay in Carolina and compete for a Super Bowl?

I'm guessing Jacksonville or San Francisco, in all likelihood. I would throw Oakland in above San Francisco but I don't think there's enough cap space left.

mixed emotions for me. completely understand wanting to etiher get it done, or move on. and i respect DG for making a decision. it's, afterall, the only control he has to exercise at this point.

hate it for Josh too, i thought he grew up some the past two years. hope it works out for him.

and i don't think he'll be as good in another system, that doesn't have the complimentary parts our Defense has.

Kind of agree with Gettleman's logic on this one. The agent is a representative of you. If he was acting like a moron this whole time, he should have been let go a long time ago.

All water under the bridge now, and I'm glad Norman got his money. He's a local guy (Greenwood, SC), walked on to Coastal Carolina and rose the ranks to where he is today. Good to see a story like that work out in the end.

It is a nice success story.

Happy Draft Day to you and yours!
What do you guys think about tonight? We did a mock draft on my podcast where we went back and forth swapping picks, and I took Vernon Butler for Carolina. I'd be happy with that.
I've got a feeling Hunter Henry is going to be who they go with tonight, unless someone outstanding falls.
I could also see Ogbah or Dodd. What say you?

Edit: I just read something from a guy who nailed our pick last year that the draft tree for tonight looks like this:
Coleman/Butler/H.Henry/Ogbah/D.Henry
If that's true, Butler could be our guy. I really hope so!
