Do you find it ridiculous that Denver is asking so much in return for Carmelo? I mean we all know that it's obvious that Carmelo will not stay in Denver, and Denver is being utterly stupid by not trading him. Of course, the Lakers and Knicks are being hesitant as they should ,but Denver should take what they can get. Denver should do that LA trade and get Bynum and a few pieces with him. Or perhaps they could do a trade with the Knicks and get Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, and perhaps a draft pick or two for Anthony. If the Knicks did that, they'd get Carmelo for Chandler, and then they could sign Chris Paul as a Free agent to replace Felton. It probably will take the Knicks out of being a big time contender this year, but it would be very worth it going into next year. In fact, the Knicks aren't even contenders this year anyway. They might get 1 or 2 wins in the playoffs ,but that is it.
Yeah, those trades aren't exactly fair ,but Denver at least needs to get something in return. I'm not a Denver fan ,but I won't criticize them if they "give away" Carmelo in a trade and come out of it on the losing end. You know all these "haters" and "idiots" will come out and say that the Nuggets gave Carmelo away, when in reality, it was the only thing they could do. They have to look out for themselves. Think about it. If your Denver, do you really want to keep Carmelo for the remainder of the season and try to make a run? Right now, the Nuggets are slumping and may possibly not even make the playoffs anyway. The Nuggets right now aren't better than the Blazers or Grizzlies ,and they'll likely have to duke it out with Utah and possibly Phoenix for the final playoff spot. In the long run, it's best for Denver to get rid of Carmelo and start a rebuilding phase.
What is everyone's opinion on this issue? Normally, I could care less about this stuff, but I think this is kind of interesting to talk about, considering all of the possible scenarios.
