Due to the mismanagement of the clock, that was likely going to be a pass, and the DB was sitting all over it. Very little chance even a great throw is completed. JA should have sent it over the sideline and lived to kick a FG.
Not piling on, but that one play cost us the game.
I think we'll see a significant change in play-calling for the rest of the season. Look for TN to become a heavy run-oriented offense with occasional deep shots and quick sideline throws. Basically, back to the '24 offense where they didn't trust Nico. I think they had a lot of trust in JA up until that play Saturday night.
Ramon Foster said the same thing. Poor clock mgmt (lost at least 30 seconds) causing the staff to rush for one last play.No they called the play, it wasn't checked. Horrible play call and Heupel needs to seriously hold himself responsible. It was a bad throw, he should have put more on it. It is a coach's job to put his players in the best position for success and on that play in particular the coach failed to do that plain and simple.
