This guy is a moron. I don't know how many of you remember his brother (clown of clowns) but it's obvious that he came from the same tree. He doesn't realize the nations power pools overlap into both countries. Let me tell you what he has done.

The eastern interconnect covers most of the US and Canada. It is one system. There are many ISO's (Independent System Operators) within the Eastern Interconnect. It's huge. The largest "machine" in the history of the world. One of the jobs of the ISO is to safely and economically dispatch power plants onto the system to meet load requirements. This dispatching is determined by COST. Cheap units run first, more expensive units are dispatched as load rises. All these power stations are told when to come on line and are paid as they are used. Ontario has a huge amount of cheap hydro units and normally these units run whenever they available due to their low costs.

What the moronic Premier Ford has done is chunk a huge tax onto all those cheap units making them not so cheap. Now I will tell you what will happen. NOTHING! All he did was reshuffle the cost deck. Now those cheap units will sit by doing nothing, making nothing and no profit. More expensive units will run in there place (probably fossil fuel plants) and Ontario Hydro will have far less profit in their pockets. One other thing is since we are all in these power pools, if one member misbehaves, they can be sued by the ISO's and ISO members so the legal fallout is going to be like an avalanche. So when Ontario Hydro is told to "come online" and they say "no, our Premier says we can't" the fines by the ISO will be at bankrupting levels. Premier Ford is as dumb as his brother...but I do like comedy.

BREAKING NEWS: Canada Folds to Trump and CANCELS bombshell electricity tariff after president's trade war escalation

Canada folded to President Donald Trump after he vowed the nation would pay an historically big 'financial price' for the electricity tariff it imposed on the United States.

In response, Ontario Premier Doug Ford said he would cut the 25% tariff on Canadian electricity to Michigan, New York and Minnesota that he put in place on Monday in response to earlier tariffs from Trump.

He noted in a statement he had been speaking with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick about the situation and the two men agreed to meet Thursday, March 13th alongside the United States Trade Representative to discuss reciprocal tariffs that Trump wants to put in place on April 2nd.

Trump responded, of course. Also, Reiterated “absorbing Canada” as the 51st state. Why? We don’t want that and they don’t want that. He needs to knock that crap off.

I am with you here bud. Using tarriffs etc to get other countries to do what we want them to do is great. Trump has already forced Canada, Mexico, Panama, and Greenland (indirectly) to do things that will benefit our nation having not cost us a dime...only threats of penalties in commerce etc. Extremely effective and the exact opposite of the Dims who do stupid crap like "don't" followed by inaction when their warning was laughed at...the debacle in Afghanistan etc which humiliated us and made us look weak. Trump has been very effective so far and his admin hit the ground running in an unprecedented manner.

That said...he needs to quit with the childish insults towards Canada. They are our allies, and we have no quarrel with the citizens of Canada and do not want to offend them. Their Leftist government is garbage mind you...much like the EU Globalists...but the people of Canada are good people that are just like us except colder and more polite. We need to treat them with the respect they deserve as our neighbor and ally that does NOT let their entire country be run by multibillion dollar drug cartels which supply our entire nation with all of the most destructive narcotics, invaders by the millions, and gang members. If theres a neighbor that needs to be chastised and made to get their crap together...its the one to the South. Not up North.

I truly believe that most of it is a canard. He does and says some things just to make the looney left go barking and howling down the false trail that he laid. He gets more things done because they are spending all their time and energy trying to attack something that he has no intention of doing. Canada, Greenland, Gaza...are they real attempts or is he just throwing sticks in the lake to make all the dogs go snarling after. Either way he's making them all look like fools.

I can understand head fakes for the sake of taking the pulse on some ulterior motive, but throwing out the threat of force via military or forced annexation somehow is just inappropriate, imo.

The fact that parts of the US are reliant on foreign power is unacceptable and shows a complete failure of all prior administrations.
I think its more a "problem" of capitalism. its either the cheapest way or the most profitable way to do it, so that is what happened.

Another idiot reading a script where she doesn't even understand what it means. Food insecurities brought on by the three phony crisis created by that cabal. Covid, "the pandemic" (same thing), Climate change (hoax). These are all created crisis. One thing is for certain. They have unlimited resources and they are not the type to stop after a failure. They will continue to try and enslave (or end) the world. Stay alert.

"Michael Patrick Leahy, CEO and Editor-In-Chief of The Tennessee Star, said he believes President Donald Trump’s calls for Canada to become the 51st U.S. state is a negotiating tactic in disguise that will set up the U.S. in a position to take control over Canadian territories north of the 60th parallel to fortify the area with defenses in the event of Arctic incursions by Russia or China.

Reacting to Trump’s renewed calls for Canada to become the 51st U.S. state Tuesday during an interview with Fox News on Tuesday, Leahy said he believes the president’s “endgame strategy” with Canada is to seize the nation’s northern territories – Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut – stretching from Alaska to Greenland.

Leahy is calling the gambit Trump’s “Northern Flank Strategy.”

“If Canada were a 51st state and if they had voted in 2024, who would they have voted for? Probably 75, 80 percent of them would have voted for Kamala Harris. That doesn’t work politically in America. Not at all. It would have a huge electoral college impact, and I don’t think that’s what Donald Trump is really after here. I think this is a negotiating tactic. What does he really want? He wants what I call the ‘Northern Flank Strategy,’” Leahy explained.
