No, again not sure why we are comparing tennessee to oklahoma.
You said Pruitt isn’t a DC anymore, I said well Riley isn’t a OC anymore either. Can you name me OU’s coordinator, and why isn’t he a hot commodity after back to back Heisman’s? We all know who’s baby it is

Not much worse than ours obviously. What's Kentucky's and Auburn's? But neither one of those wins were good coaching right?
You have a difficult time with comprehension dont you? Ill type slowly so may be youll get it.

Pruitt didnt have a good first year. His team looked good in 2 of 11 games.

Ok, I didnt say anything about their record, I said they look like trash in 9 of 11 games. Had they looked good in most games only losing by a score or two in most then my opinion of his first year would be different. They didnt.

"You are what your record says you are." - Bill Parcels

Good enough for me.

I don't even know how pruitt being a good dc was relevant to anything yet someone mentioned it.

Let me spell it out for you, we won 5 games. Nothing else matters but wins. Would you care if we looked like crap but still beat Alabama?

Ok, then, seems we agree that Pruitt didnt have a good year, unless you consider 5-7 at Tennessee a good year.

After the trumpet man and 4-8? Its not what you re making it out to be, no.
It wasn't Smart replacing Richt at a stocked UGA.

Is 5-7 what's expected out of him going forward? No.
Was it within a game of what most everyone thought they had in year 1? Yes

Who said anyone was happy? We improved. Period. That's all coaching.
So then Charlotte was cosching to correct...and Vandy and all the other 26 point losses? Hard to figure how thats and overall good job. We looked very good against Auburn and no I dont care how we won, but let's not forget that we are a wide open dropped pass from being 4-8. For whatever reason, he wasn't able to get his team to perform that was in 9 other games. Therefore not a good job.

I believe the point of this thread is to highlight the fact that Pruitt was a good coordinator and the OP has confidence he will be a good coach given time. So what exactly is your point?
Im less concerned with pruitts abilities as a head coach and more concerned with his abilities as a head coach.

Talent surely didn't have a thing to do with the blowout loss to Vandy and the narrow escape against Charlotte.
Chalking up the season to Charlotte or Vandy is just as silly as chalking it up to AU or UK.

You can't harp on one and ignore the other.

They were a 5 or 6 win team and missed closing out SC for the 6th.

False.

Pruitt took the worst Tennessee team in history and in year 1:

-Improved the win total, while implementing a new system

-Improved the conference win total by 2 games

-Beat 2 Top 25 teams

-Improved in basically every statistic

-Did all this against a MUCH tougher schedule than the 4-8 team

That’s a good job of coaching, no matter how you spin it.

It really is remarkable.

Also, coaching stability is HUGE. We've been beaten by the Vandy, WVU, and SC type teams not because they recruit better talent - but because they've had stability in their system. We need to hang on to Pruitt for a long time and build a strong foundation for this program.

They are great examples of good coaching, the 6 - 25point or more losses and the Charlotte game were great examples of piss poor coaching.

So you are saying most expected 6-6? Then again, glad we agree he didnt do a good job in year one.
