Can SEC Reverse Suspension for Targeting?

So who was the "Replay Official" and how are they chosen? I'm not sure if it is just me but officiating and replays seems to be getting worse every year.

Don't know who the replay official was, but they are usually "retired" game officials that are too old to run up and down the field anymore.

Hey man, you're preaching to the choir. I'm not a proponent of not undoing the bad, I'm just providing a voice that states why they won't (and didn't).

Technically, this gives the conference the ability to choose winners and losers in this league, regardless of talent or performance.

I feel that the leagues and the NCAA know that we are in a short time frame from the non-NFL players filing their own lawsuits for concussion and knee injuries and are trying to protect their own hide. But suspending players who are innocent of breaking rules destroys all credibility of the game.

I really do not see much difference between the SEC office and the tarnished NCAA when it comes to administration.

A lot has been made about paying players. Dang we need to pay the officials! These guys are not full time professionals. Until the leagues anti up enough dough to get full time dedicated professional officials we will continue to have the same poor outcomes as we see every week and as represented in this call and the Duke v. Miami game.

I thought that Butch missed a huge opportunity on the Moseley play by not throwing the challenge flag and questioning the fumble as a separate issue. His anger over the call wiped out any sense about the total play itself.

It would not have made any difference in the game but still another missed opportunity that could cost us in another game.

Wouldn't the penalty have negated that anyway?

League officials or the head ref, or the replay official should at least provide a detailed explanation of why it was considered targeting. It clearly doesn't fit the definition of targeting on the books, so they should tell us what we're all missing. I don't see how coaches are supposed to teach players not to target if the current definition of targeting is insufficient.

I am pretty sure once it was ruled targeting there was no "fumble". The play was over with the hit. Now had they reversed the call and taken targeting out then yea I think we would have.
