If you can't stop the run in this league you're in for a long and frustrating season. CBS has promised a more aggressive "D" with some scheme tweaks. We'll probably see a 3-4 vs. pro style "O"s and a 4-2-5 vs. spread teams.

How much of the "slowness" is lack of physical ability and how much is not reading keys? I have seen a lot of very good LBs that wouldn't win many foot races but because they could read and react they were waiting on the back in the hole with regularity.

Tuttle has lived up to the Hype. Hadnt been for injury he would be one of the SECs best going into this yr.

I think between Phillips, Taylor, Kongbo, Blakely, Deandre Johnson and Butler at DE, and Kmac, Vickers, Johnson, Picou and Bain at DT, they should be able to do what is necessary against Georgia Tech and give Tuttle time until Florida.
Sure would be nice to have him back against Florida...lots of what ifs, but we've got to remember Vickers is a seasoned vet and one of the strongest on the team. I honestly think that Kmac (dropping 35-45 pounds from '15 to '16) probably struggled finding a happy medium and wasn't accustomed to being so light..and him getting hurt obviously. Johnson was the 2nd ranked DT coming out of JUCO and didn't have a prayer last year given his situation. All anyone talks about is how much Picou has improved over the off season, and Bain saw some playing time last year and is at least serviceable for the moment.

So yes, we are very thin. But dang you'd have to think that we won't get bit with the injury bug 2 years in a row! Here's to hoping.

the new coaches should help, but not much room for error. GT,FL, on the road. then GA here in short order. i worried about a bad start then ever one starts pointing fingers. not folding late in the season from injuries.
