Look, I hated Danny Wuerffell. Yes he was a Christian, and yes he said nice things, but the man played for Spurrier. Furthermore he was unreal in how irritating he was as he rubbed his hands together and blew on them before every snap. When he ran he slid down 3 yards shy of an oncoming defender. I despised him and I was so proud Peyton was our QB instead even when D.W. won.
Tim Tebow? The kid enjoys contact. The kids speech after the Ole Miss loss? He was almost crying because of how angry he was with himself over losing. The kid does trick plays, he does normal plays, he does running plays.
There are no shots of him drunk at a party and you know if they existed they would be out there. Other players at UF shoot AK 47's, he finishes off a workout and then he heads to the hospital to make balloon animals for pediatric cancer patients. I mean seriously.
I wanted Scott Frost and Matt Jones to make it as QBs even though neither did. I hate Florida more than I hate Alabama, more than I even hate Notre Dame, but as I think about Tim Tebow after his last SEC media days, I cannot say I hate him. Would I like to see him temporarily sidelined by vomiting into his helmet after an Eric Berry blitz? Sure, on the 19th of September, but all the rest of the year I cannot help but wish the guy the best. He is a true star, and he shines on and off the field.
