HBs reason for Stock being down is pretty stupid......

Should only drop if he is doing bad in practice which he isn’t..... lol
I think it was a poor choice of words not necessarily meant as he’s performing bad. Merely a means for a lot of people to temper expectations for a kid that hasn’t really ran a scrimmage play and probably only understands a portion of the playbook due to getting screwed by living in the year 2020. Mid season is when I would expect him to be full tilt go and understand enough of the playbook to include sliding protection and really reading the defense if JG is struggling.

If anyone thought he was going to start Day 1 they were delusional. I agree if he does work his way into the rotation it’s Mid-season. Also, now he has to compete with Shrout who apparently is starting to get things clicking. Should be an interesting battle for backup QB.

You got to give it to JG though. He took the Rocky approach to winning, instead of wearing a defensive line down with the run he just gasses them by taking shot after shot until they don’t want to play anymore from constantly having to tackle him. Really revolutionary ****.

Lol 😂 all I know is I hope JG is on notice that if he doesn’t perform like he should there is someone to replace him whoever it may be.

Weinke did say that JGs anticipation was hell of a lot better compared to last year. Hopefully its not coach talk. We will find out in 23 days.

He's the best "practice" quarterback in history. We all know he looks like a cross between Manning and Favre in practice. Is he going to hand the ball to Alabama again and watch as they run 100 yards for a TD?

As far as jj goes Reuben Foster took a lot of time to grasp the defense and come into his own. He turned into a first round pick, just because a kid has a high rating doesn’t mean they can all be a toot toot. JJP could be that same kind of player that explodes his senior year and plays solid special teams for 3. The athleticism is there.
You did not compare him to Reuben Foster??
There is HUGE difference between them. Foster was behind NFL Draft picks and had to wait his turn. But he was standing out on special teams and in practice. There was never doubt he would be great.

I think JG going to have a break out year. Lets be fair he this his first time actually having the same OC for more than one season. JG going to be alot more confident year 2 in the same offense. At this point you mind as well stand behind the guy. Nobody else not good enough yet to get JG benched.

No, actually he lost the competition to start his sophomore year to Reggie Ragland who wasn’t a Butkus award winner, wasn’t a 1st round pick, also wasn’t a 5 star. I’m not saying he’s Reuben Foster just saying he could take a similar path. JJ was a high ranked recruit just might take more time to develop than most would like.

Yeah I'd say Gibbs's stock dropped pretty bad since he isn't playing.

As for Peterson, I think the move to OLB is a good decision. With Banks coming back, that's another strong contender for playing time. He's seemed to struggle with the mental side of the game from reports last year, but at OLB, we can pretty much just tell him see ball carrier, hit ball carrier. Might never amount to much, but at least he can be depth there.

Glad to see Krohn is doing well, representing Warren county! I think the oline is going to be really strong this year.

So, I'm a paying member of several sites. David Ubben is the UT football correspondent for the Athletic, a pay site. I'm also someone who pays for the Rivals UT info. I got spanked last week for posting too much from that site. I can only give so such or it gets yanked. Don't blame the writers, it's what I can try and give (without a chain, so to speak). BTW, the Pride of the Southland Band saw its stock fall, for obvious reasons. Enjoy, pro football in just over a week. I think this clears the overseers.
You commited a Snafu?

Yeah, JJP was never even "in'" in the competition when we really needed a young stud to step up there at ILB. So again, you're comparison isn't good.

JJP, even if he only becomes a backup, as backup at both OLB AND ILB, there is definitely value in that.
I don't get everyone down on him. He's struggled with shoulder injuries, one of the worst injuries a LB can have. It's slowed his development but not killed it. I agree, no shame in playing behind guys named Big Hank, Crouching Tiger and Lil Biscuit Bennett!! If he's healthy I can see him being a big contributor this year.
