Cam Clear Arrested (merged)

Damage control on his part can only go so far.

Exactly. I bet he tried to fix this, and now it might be out of his hands. If this had just remained as rumors and internal punishment, then everything would have just been speculation. Unfortunately sh!t hit the fan though.

Just in general. Coaches have to appear impartial even when they are not. Felony arrests and national stories on ESPN can force a coaches hand. I have no doubt Dooley tried to contain this, it didn't work.

Nowadays its hard to keep anything under wrap with Facebook and twitter.

if its a habitation then its burglary which is a felony. if its a theft and over 500 it's still a felony

It will never get to felony theft. Get real Dude.

These rumors started swirling weeks ago. This current laptop was reported stolen on May 19. You have no idea how widespread this may or may not be. Besides, that wasn't my point. If he's made a habit out of stealing from other students, Dooley needs to boot him. The idea that the coach would not do that because he's from Memphis is laughable.

I didn't follow the first episode of stolen laptops, was there an investigation into that? Or was it squashed?

Wasn't he the one claiming that Bryce Brown was renting an apt in Knoxville & that he would be back on the team?

Crimelog for March 14, 2012 | The Daily Beacon

11:32 a.m. — An officer responded to a vandalism call at the Sigma Nu fraternity house located at 1824 Fraternity Park Dr. Upon arrival, the officer met the complainant, a 19-year-old UT student, who reported seeing a white male throw a brick through a first floor window at approximately 11:15 a.m. The suspect then ran towards Tom Black Track. Patrol units didn’t make contact with the suspect. No injuries were reported.

LOL, people still throw stuff at the sigma nu house

I am sure you know this, but for general FYI:

TCA 39-14-105 (theft) illustrates (in part):

Class A misdemeanor if $500 or less (max 11 months 29 days).
Class E Felony if $500 to $1000 (standard 1-2 years)
Class D Felony if $1000 to $10000 (Standard 2-4 years)
Class C Felony if $10000 to $60000 (standard 3-6 years)
Class B Felony if $60000 or more (standard 8-12 years)

If you enter a habitation to commit a felony act, or theft it is considered aggravated burglary per TCA 39-14-403 and is a Class C Felony.

I hope his attorney can make good use of TCA 39-14-107.

Wes Rucker confirmed Clear had been previously arrested for similar incident. No link from mobile hearing it on radio. SIAP. If true this was his second chance and he's all but gone.. I don't know if Clear can survive two arrests like this.

Don't know if it's already been brought up yet or not, but is it coincidence that the name Cam isn't just inclusive of Cam Newton and now Cam Clear, but also previously with Cam Mayo?

Just a random thought.

Still don't care. UT has historically done poorly in Memphis, yet somehow we still have a storied football culture.

Really? Many Memphis kids have played there. Poor really, poor would be like Tennessee wouldn't sign a Memphis kid for like 10 years or so. UT usually signs Memphis kids everyyear.

And historically there have been many Memphis kids in Orange.

How many of them have performed at a level they were expected to or didn't get in trouble?

Memphis has a wealth of football talent, UT snagging 1 or 2 big ones year to year is not exactly great. I'm not knocking Memphis, just say that a disconnect exists between Knoxville and Memphis, and it's not really anything new.

Was thinking the same thing... also if you spell Cam backwards you get MAC... its a conspiracy!!!

I agree with that, me being from west Tennessee and going to visit east Tennessee it's a whole new world.. Memphis kids that never been out of Memphis would think holy crap, this is definately something I'm not used to.
